Reporter: One of the highlights of the joint meeting of the presidents of Anhui Academy of Painting is that you brought in the academic research topic of "Xin 'an Painting School commemorating the 400th anniversary of Jianjiang's birth". Please elaborate. What is the basis for setting this topic? What problems did you encounter during the setup process?

Liu: We are a state-run painting academy. Under the current situation of diversified development of the art world, we must do something to show the significance of existence and seek further development by organizing exhibitions, seminars, going out and sketching. Since Ming and Qing Dynasties and even modern times, Anhui has accumulated profound traditional art resources.

We must base ourselves on this advantage and make use of it. The specific approach is: insist on holding some study and discussion activities aimed at Anhui's excellent artistic traditions every year, and promote development through academics. Only in this way can we foster strengths and avoid weaknesses and embark on a new road of self-development. For example, in 2009, we held the "Copy Exhibition of Xin 'an Painting School". Through coordination with many museums and art galleries in Anhui Province, the original works of Xin 'an Painting School were lent out for artists to copy and then exhibited in public, which had a very good influence.

Many old painters are very emotional: I feel that these paintings used to be hidden in a corner of the warehouse, but now they are all taken out face to face for the first time, learning and drawing lessons from the tradition of Xin' an Painting School. It not only shows our advantages and characteristics, but also gives the painters in the Academy a chance to improve. At the same time, it also strengthened their enthusiasm and understanding of Anhui's excellent artistic traditions.

For Chinese painting, we must pay attention to the problem of inheritance in the process of development. This is the so-called link between the past and the future. Our "copying" activity is of great significance for "inheriting the past" and deepening the painter's understanding of Xin 'an traditional painting, and it has also received good results. The year of 20 10 is the 400th anniversary of Jianjiang's birth. We hold a seminar this time, which is also an initiative to deeply explore and study Anhui's artistic resources.

The hotel where we met this time is called Sunshine Peninsula. They are very supportive of our idea. Through coordination with them, they decided to establish a series of "Peninsula Art Forum" with Xin 'an School as a case. This is the beginning of this series of forums.

Reporter: What artistic issues will this forum mainly discuss in the future? Is there a continuation plan now?

Liu: That is the Xin 'an School of Painting. It is decided that Anhui Painting and Calligraphy Institute will host Xuancheng Mei Qing Seminar 20 1 1. Mei Qing is an important painter of Xin 'an Painting School. He is a good friend of Shi Tao and attracted him from Jiangxi. He lived in Shuangta Temple in Xuancheng for 16 years, and Mei Qing has been helping him. In artistic creation, Shi Tao has a lot to learn from Mei Qing, which is worth exploring.

Another example is Xiao Congyun in Wuhu. On the occasion of the 4 10 anniversary of his birth, we are planning a small seminar. Dai Benxiao in Anhui, Deng in Anqing, Cha Shibiao, etc. , are our goals. Xin 'an Painting School needs to be studied as a whole, and case studies should also be paid attention to, so it is easier to go deep. Why did they form the school of painting and how did their styles unify? This requires us to think deeply, and it will also inspire the present and the future.

I always say that an artist is a complex. For example, Jian Jiang is a scholar, not to mention that he is a painter. First of all, he must be a scholar. Huang's collection of works is a complex behind the artist, and he combines many elements. Our case is to study what is behind them. I think there are many places worth exploring in Xin 'an Painting School.

We will refine it in the future, such as studying Xin 'an's calligraphy, or studying poetry and its formation and life. , which can be conducted in the form of a forum.

Reporter: It is best to invite an expert who has studied Xin 'an Painting School to give a keynote speech at such a seminar. In addition, if you can borrow some works or better printed materials for live display, you can gather lectures, seminars and observation. After the meeting, it will be collected into a document set, which will gradually have a good influence.

Liu: Your suggestion is very good, which is exactly what we want to achieve. We should pay attention to the use of literature and famous books in the future. At this seminar, we also arranged such contents, such as inviting professors and Xue Yongnian to give lectures, and also inviting Huang's disciple Bao Hongde, who is now in Wuhu. Both he and his father studied under Huang, which can be said to be representatives of inheriting the tradition of Xin 'an Painting School. Through the live speeches of experts and artists with inheritance, we will make the characteristics of our forum and promote the future development of Anhui fine arts through academic promotion.
