2. In Shang Dynasty, there was a descendant of Zhou surnamed Ba who lived in Zhongli Mountain (now northwest of Changyang, Hubei). After the destruction of commerce, Ba people were named Ba Zi State (now Banan District, Chongqing).
3. During the Shu and Han Dynasties, Zhuge Liang gave the surnames of Zhao, Zhang, Yang and Li to the local ethnic minorities after mourning the exiled ethnic minorities.
4. During the Han and Jin Dynasties, nomadic minorities in the north attached to it, and some Xiongnu and Xianbei people were given surnames such as Liu and Li.
5. In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Sichuan was in war for years. In the seventh year of Kangxi (1668), the governor of Sichuan, Zhang De, wrote to the imperial court, asking the imperial court to mobilize people from all over the country to migrate to Sichuan. Most of Li's surnames in Sichuan moved in from Huguangfu and other places, thus forming "Huguang filling Sichuan".

During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Li in Longxi rose in troubled times, and Gui Li established Xiliang as a separatist party. After the demise of Xiliang, Li Gui's grandson Li Bao surrendered to the Northern Wei Dynasty and was highly valued. Among his six sons, except one who died young, the other five sons were all officials in the Northern Wei Dynasty, among which Li Chong, the sixth son of Li Bao, was the most beloved.
With the active participation and planning of, Qinghe Cui Shi, Lushi, Taiyuan and Xingyang were married with the royal family of the Northern Wei Dynasty and became descendants, and were designated as the fourth surname by Emperor Xiaowen of Wei, while Longxi Li became the "four surnames" and was called "five surnames". Later generations developed into seven surnames and ten families.
