From 65438 to 0935, after Chen Yuan's introduction, Qi Gong worked as a teaching assistant in the Fine Arts Department of Fu Jen Catholic University. Two years later, Qi Gong was dismissed again in the name of "insufficient education".
At that time, Beiping was in the period of occupation, and under the control of the Japanese puppet government, prices soared. In order to make a living, Qigong worked as a tutor in two families and maintained the life of the whole family with a meager salary. In his spare time, he concentrates on reading or studying calligraphy and painting at home. At this time, his works have become famous in the society.
Chen Yuan firmly believed that Qi Gong was a talented young man and arranged for him to return to Fu Jen Catholic University again. After the fall of 1938, Chen Yuan hired Professor Qi Gong to teach "General Chinese" in the first year of college. Later, Qi Gong said, "At that time, there was more affection between teachers and students than between father and son."
