His ceramic landscape paintings have the artistic effect of braving the wind and waves, being magnificent, vivid and interesting. He is a representative figure in Jingdezhen ceramic painting.
1975, Yu Mingzhou, with a childish face, entered Jingdezhen Xinfeng Porcelain Factory to engage in ceramic painting. At that time, it was an enviable thing to enter the ceramic factory to engage in the technical work of ceramic painting. That year, he was 15 years old. After the guidance of Mei Yu and his own efforts, he won the second place in the pastel technical competition of the whole factory, and the technical level of pastel decoration reached 8.2.
From 65438 to 0986, he studied calligraphy in Jingdezhen Branch of China Calligraphy and Painting University, and systematically studied calligraphy, which laid a solid foundation for freehand ceramic painting.
The dramatic change and turning point in Yu Ming's life took place at the age of 29. 1990 came to Changjiang police station for work and became a "quasi-policeman". During his two years working in the police station, he went out with the police many times to fight against social black forces, social cancer and bad atmosphere. When he talked to reporters about this life experience, he felt that he had learned a lot of knowledge and experience at that time, and he has felt a lot so far.
From 1992, Yu Mingzhou entered the mural porcelain factory to create ceramic murals. On this artistic stage, he is wanton and splashed with ink, which fully shows his artistic personality. During this period, he painted a large-scale ceramic "Welcome Pine" inscribed by Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau (PSC), and created "Lijiang Fishing Song" for the Ministry of Water Resources.
In 2004, Yu Mingzhou was employed by the Art Center of Ceramic Research Institute of China Ministry of Light Industry. By learning from others and teaching himself the theory and skills of ceramic painting, his understanding of ceramic arts and crafts has changed and improved qualitatively. Yu Mingzhou hates the "takenism" of some artists in Jingdezhen copying famous paintings, Chinese paintings and works of famous ceramics.
Yu Mingzhou said that in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many excellent ceramic works imitating Chinese painting were signed by famous artists. Some works with good imitations have also become good collections.
Yu Mingzhou boldly put forward his own ideas to the management of Jingdezhen ceramic industry: "Can you make some porcelain shop owners and takeaways be honest with imitations? They are imitations of XXX, a famous painter in China, and mark them on the porcelain-they are imitations. If you do this, it will not affect the sales of porcelain, because a real imitation is a beautiful handicraft. " He believes that if this kind of honesty can be accepted by most people and form industry norms and good habits, then Jingdezhen ceramic art will encourage innovation in inheriting the tradition and have a good internal and external environment, which will surely get better, faster and greater development in the norms, thus making Jingdezhen ceramic art carry forward.
As an artist, I need new knowledge all my life and work hard all my life. Since 15 years old, Yu Mingzhou has been attached to ceramic painting and has been sticking to this position. As a pioneer of art territory, he has been constantly accepting challenges and struggling all his life. In July, 2007, China Artists Association and China National Painting Academy nominated Yu Mingzhou to participate in the National Chinese Painting Nomination Exhibition to commemorate "Huang Daozhou" and exhibited it in Zhangzhou.
