When we pick up a book, we don’t need to study its content first. Just its appearance is enough for our appreciation.
The yellow rough-edged paper is the most comfortable to the eyes. The color of the paper alone has caused an illusion in our minds, making us think that this book is a remnant that has escaped the ravages of time. The period of history in which he was spared to meet us is already a book in itself, worthy of our thinking and admiration, not to mention the truth or beauty contained in it.
There are also those square shapes and beautiful words. The composition of each word is a poem; the evolution of each word is a piece of history. The wind is like the wind of three dogs: In the wilderness of tall autumn grass and withered grass, the sky is green and the ground is ocher. A mid-speed hound gallops by as fast as the wind, sniffing the blood dripping from the injured beast in the grass. He chased in the wrong direction and heard the rustle of withered grass, as if the autumn wind was blowing past him. Dusk is an ancient word for marriage: when the sun goes down and no one is seen on the other side, a group of people on horseback, holding shining red torches, quietly approach a house. When they arrived at the bamboo fence and firewood gate, amidst the barking of dogs and while the door was still open, they all shouted and rushed in, allowing the groom to pick up the screaming bride from the wheat field and ride back. The people who came with them resisted the bride's father and brothers, trying to make a deal impossible without fighting.
There are many kinds of fonts for printing books: Song style is tall and graceful like Liu character, Masha style is like Yaojiao style like European style, calligraphy style is juanxiu like Chu style, and regular style is straight and square like Yan style. Italics are the most common. There are many different types: one is the popular cube; the other is the narrow and long regular script with the most obvious edges and corners; the other is the flat and short regular script, which is thick and has an ancient style. There are also books written in full regular script or semi-regular script. Not only do they seem to have a close feeling, but they sometimes have ancient manuscripts, which is enough to verify the printing errors of the current version and the borrowing of characters.
If you have an old book in front of you, you will see many red seals in the first chapter, some of which are nicknames and some of which are names. Among these names, you might find an ancient collector or a famous literati. At that time, you can let your imagination run wild in this vermilion square, forming many ethereal castles in the air. There are also those red circles, some of them are bold and some are strict. You can guess based on their posture and their position whether the person reading this book is a young man or an old man; whether he is a bohemian. A talented scholar and a mature and prudent Confucian scholar. You can also use this to figure out the fate of the protagonist: Why did his books disperse to the world? Was it because his descendants were unworthy and abandoned him? Did he flee from the army and have his library stolen by a group of mediocre slaves? Or was he unlucky and his family was in decline, so he sold it to pay off debts or support his family? The old owner of the book was like this. What about me? Where is the current owner of my book? He was facing the carved inkstone, picked up his newly minted ink pen, and circled his beloved book in the light smell of incense. At that time, he never imagined the future fate of this book. How will his own future destiny end? Just as I, who am reading this book now, cannot know what my future destiny will be.
Going a step further, let us imagine the fate of the author: his sorrow and disappointment are all naturally revealed in the lines of this book. When we read, sometimes we cry with him, sometimes we sigh for him. What if, misfortunes are added to misfortunes, they meet Qin Shihuang or Dong Zhuo, and the articles that they have devoted their whole life to are burned into nothing; or if they have the same fate as "Jin Ping Mei", "Dream of Red Mansions", and "Water Margin", they will be forgotten by Qian Jian What a pity it is to mark it as a banned book!
There are so many unsatisfactory things in the world. Let’s not talk about anything else, except books. No matter how independent they are from the world, they will still be destroyed by this kind of misfortune. As for the beauties who are as fragile as glass and the arrogant scribes who are as proud as white cranes, it is self-evident that they are tabooed. Just think about the literati who have no meaning. When they are unhappy, some of them collect wood and some herd cattle. Not only are they no more than mediocre people, but they are also despised and humiliated by their families or masters. However, they are born with a stubborn character and are more worldly. She rolled her eyes at him, but he became more energetic.
Some of them carried firewood behind their backs and read books in their hands; some rode on the backs of oxen and hung books on their horns to read; some carried fireflies and lit up the books on summer nights when mosquitoes were thundering. ; Some took books and read against the snow on cold winter nights. However, time waits for no one. By the time they have matured in knowledge, their vision has long been spent and their hair has turned white. Only some deep and long wrinkles have been added to their foreheads.
Cough! Why not take advantage of the fact that your eyes are still clear and your hair on your temples has not yet turned frosty, and read more of the book "Life"!
