Yao was born in Xiangcheng (now Xiangcheng District, Suzhou). He was originally a doctor's son. At the age of fourteen, he was shaved as a monk.

The method of burning two torches at night depends on the shape and color of people and the year of birth. He is the author of Liu Zhuang's physiognomy, which is an important reference book of modern physiognomy.

At that time, Yuan Xun once said:

"What a strange monk this is! His eyes are triangular and shaped like a sick tiger. His temperament is destined to love war. This is a character with Liu! "

Liu (a.d. 12 16 ~ a.d. 1274) was born in Xingtai, Shunde. When I was young, I lived in seclusion in Wu 'an Mountain and became a monk. After living in the cloud, I followed Master Hai Yun's call to go north and live in a secluded house (especially the residence of an emperor who was not a prince before he ascended the throne). Conquest and negotiation were all involved. Yuan Shizu (Kublai Khan) to the early Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1264 ~ A.D. 1294, ***3 1), Wang Hanlin E, please change their clothes and follow them. So I worshipped Taibao and consulted books to save trouble. Eleven years to yuan, 59 years old.

Dao Yan was overjoyed to hear Yuan Xun say so.

Yan Tao often travels between Gao Qi and others. He is good at poetry and calligraphy.

Gao Qi (A.D. 1336 ~ A.D. 1374) was born in Changzhou (now Suzhou). Ming Taizu Hongwu (1368 ~ 1398, ***3 1) years, Zhu Yuanzhang gave ten eminent monks to the king respectively.

Yan Tao, one of the top ten monks, was given Judy by Zhu Yuanzhang.

In the thirty-first year of Hongwu in Ming Taizu (A.D. 1398), after the death of Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Yunwen, the great grandson, succeeded to the throne as emperor.

After Wen Jian's rule, in order to strengthen his power, he took a series of measures to cut down the governors (Zhu Yuanzhang had 26 sons, almost all of whom were kings. It is conceivable that these uncles put pressure on Emperor Wen Jian, and it was necessary to cut the vassals. For Judy, the prince of Yan, Wen Jian deployed troops in Beiping. In the name of preventing the border, Judy's guards were moved out of the Great Wall to prepare for the removal of the prince.

With the support and assistance of Dao Yan and others, Judy, the prince of Yan, rebelled in the first year of Wen Jian (A.D. 1399), and then sent troops south to launch the "Jingnan War".

The result of the confrontation between the two sides: in the fourth year of Wen Jian (1402), Judy captured Yingtian (now Nanjing, Jiangsu); Life and death are unknown and the whereabouts are unknown; Judy ascended the throne and became the monarch of the Ming Dynasty.

After Judy came to power, she decided that Jing Nan had made contributions, and Yan Tao was named Prince of Shao Shi (followed by Ming and Qing Dynasties) for his outstanding achievements.

Although you are Shao Shi, from beginning to end, Daoyan refused to grow hair.

It is said that Judy once gave Daoyan two imperial secretaries. Yan Tao can't refuse, but can only accept. After more than a month, Dao Yan still didn't have a close imperial secretary. Later, Judy recalled two imperial secretaries to the palace. Since then, Judy has never forced Daoyan to take in the harem.

Daoyan keeps a chicken. Every morning, as soon as the rooster crows, he immediately gets up to chant Buddhist scripture.

Because of water control, Daoyan once returned to his native land without Di.

There was a senior scholar in Wu, whose name was Guo Bin, Zhong Guang and Guang 'an (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). He was good at painting landscapes and studied medicine under Dai Sigong. He is a close friend of Dao Yan.

After returning home, Daoyan went to visit Wang Bin. Wang Bin knew that Yan Tao was coming, so he closed the door and refused to accept it.

Tao Yan went to see Wang Bin for the second time, and Wang Bin, like the first time, still closed the door.

Yan Tao didn't give up and went to see Wang Bin for the third time. When the king saw the door open, he said to Dao Yan:

"How could he do such a thing?" (refers to the change of Jing Nan initiated by Judy. This kind of behavior, on the whole, is unacceptable. )

Wang Bin doesn't want to be an official anyway.

In Wudi, one day, Daoyan rode on his shoulder, crossed Nagato (the west gate of Suzhou ancient city) and headed for Tiger Hill. ), he saw that the handwriting on the wine flag was very neat and asked: Who wrote this?

Someone replied that the man who wrote on the wine flag was a teenager.

Yan Tao asked the young man to see him.

After seeing the boy, Tao Yan said to him:

"I observe your appearance, later should be able to dignitaries, would you like to be my son? Who else is in your family? "

The young man replied:

"I have an old mother and a little sister at home. Shao Shi loves me and I am willing to serve you! "

So the boy went home to say goodbye to his mother and came to Daojiao.

When Yan Tao greeted the boy, he said:

"It's a pity that your life will not be long. In the future, officials can do four things. "

After returning to the capital, Daoyan took the young man to see Judy and said:

"I went out this time and received a son."

Name the boy Ji. This is Yao Ji, Daoyan's adopted son. After that, Yao Ji accompanied the East Palace (Prince) to study in Wenhua Hall.

Later, Daoyan went out on an official business of the imperial court. After arriving at the city gate, Dao Yan didn't go to town because of illness.

In his illness, Daoyan ordered his attendants to do a good job and said:

"The emperor is coming to visit me!"

Soon, the Royal Drive will arrive.

After seeing Dao Yan, Judy gave him great comfort and gave him a golden spittoon. Ask Yan:

"Do you have anything to say?"

Yan Tao put his hand on his forehead and said:

"Tan has been in prison for a long time. I hope the emperor can forgive him and let him out. "

About chicken stalls, Du Mu's Du Gong Tan Bian in Ming Dynasty contains:

"At the beginning of the country, Song was beautiful and good at interpretation, and Sejong Liu Jitan was good at Confucianism. Every time Mao called him a scholar, he was a monk in the Song Dynasty. " "

It can be seen that Lu Jitan is a very learned monk.

(A.D. 13 18 ~ A.D. 139 1) A monk of the Ming Dynasty, born in Jitan and Linhai (now Zhejiang Linhai), with a common surname of Zhou. The hidden character chapter is especially good at inheriting the past, and Zhang regards it as a friend outside the party. Hong Wuchu, Zhao Gaoxing Shaman, ranked first. At the age of 74.

After Yan Tao finished speaking, Judy immediately sent someone to release JiTan.

When the monk Tan Tan was released from prison, his hair was long enough to cover his forehead.

Later, Dao Yan raised his forehead with his hand and thanked Judy.

After a few days, ask again.

Subsequently, Dao Yan passed away.

Yao told the emperor of Daoyan's death and asked him:

"Did your father leave any messages before he died?"

Yao Ji replied:

"Father, I hope your majesty will generously fund my family!"

After hearing what Yao Ji said, Judy flew into a rage:

"Your father has talked to me all his life. Where can I mention personal things?"

So Yao Ji was expelled.

He also sent people to Wudi to bring Daoyan's brother and nephew to the capital and give them gold, silver and brocade. These two are farmers, very honest, not official.

Judy remembered what Yan Tao said again. He said: When he became a monk, he broke up with his family.

After that, Judy stopped taking care of Daoyan's family. Finally, Judy ordered Dao Yan's younger brother and nephew to be sent back to their hometown.

In the early years of Emperor Renzong of Ming Dynasty (Zhu Gaochi), Yao Ji was called Taichang Shao Qing (the fourth product). He came back from vacation and died in Zhangjiawan (now Beijing) at the age of 42.

Yan Tao's ancestors came to Liang Wudi from the capital of Song Dynasty (now Kaifeng, Henan) and lived in Xiangcheng (now Xiangcheng District, Suzhou).

The Yao family has been practicing medicine for generations.

Dao Yan's father is Yao Zhenqing.

Yan Tao's original name is Yao Tianxi.

Yao Tianxi once said to his father Yao Zhenqing:

"I don't like being a doctor; I just want to study hard, be an official in the court in the future and honor my parents; If I can't study, I am willing to practice Buddhism and enjoy the fun outside the party! "

Zong (Bolzigit Kimmur) lived in (134 1 ~ 1370, ***30 years). At the age of fourteen, Yao Tianxi was shaved at Miaozhi Temple in his hometown, and his dharma name was Daoyan.

During his study tour in Huguang, Daoyan worked hard to create poems, even surpassing the ancients.

In the fourth year of Hongwu (A.D. 137 1), the court issued a decree to accept Taoist Yan as a monk, and he was exempted from being called to the hospital.

In the eighth year of Hongwu in Ming Taizu (A.D. 1375), the imperial court issued a decree that monks who were proficient in Confucianism could become officials. Daoyan took the official examination and passed the examination, but he was unwilling to become an official. The court gave him a monk's costume, and he returned to the mountains.

In the 15th year of Hongwu in Ming Taizu (A.D. 1382), Ma Shi, the empress of Xiaocigao, passed away, and the vassals who were enfeoffed all over the country invited famous monks to return to China to fast as queens. Therefore, Zuo Shanshi Zong Ling recommended three people, including Yan Tao. Zhu Yuanzhang personally selected Dao Yan to preside over the celebration hall.

Yan Tao lived in Judy's mansion for more than twenty years, and his courtesy was very generous. At the same time, Zhu Yuanzhang sent someone to Beijing to write to Dao Yan. Soon, he was sent back to Judy.

When Emperor Taizong of the Ming Dynasty (Judy, Ming Shizong) changed the name of his temple to Chengzu. ) initiated the change of Jing Nan, and Yan Tao was its guest.

After Judy acceded to the throne, she was named Zuo Shanshi by Daoyan.

Soon, Judy added:

"Yan Tao has made meritorious service to the country, so he should store it and give it an official title."

At this time, Dao Yan was seventy-two years old.

Judy named Dao Yan again, and was later named Yao. Yao was also given a crown, a royal costume and so on. , and promoted him as a doctor and the prince of Shao Shi. In June of the same year, Yao went to Susong for disaster relief and gave him a jade belt.

Although Yao is a North Korean official, he still prides himself on innocence.

Ming Renzong Dynasty, Yao deserves to enjoy the shrine.

As a civil servant, Yao was the first and only person to enter the hall of Ming Zu (Taizuhe).

"Ming History Volume 145 Biography 33" has been circulated to this day.

The framework of this paper is based on the "Yao" section in Wang's note.
