Hu Shi' an is a scholar and has never been a minister of war. In 1649, he was the left assistant minister of the Ministry of Rites and a bachelor of Hanlin Academy (as evidenced by the plaque inscribed by Hu Shi 'an personally), and later served as the minister of Rites, which was recorded in Qing history.
