1983- 1987 graduated from the department of Chinese painting of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now known as China Academy of Fine Arts) and stayed on as a teacher; He is a member of China Artists Association, Zhejiang Artists Association and Zhejiang Figure Painting Research Association. He is currently a professor of Chinese painting department of China Academy of Fine Arts and a tutor of figure painting graduate students.
