Chronology of events in Tian Yue College

Tian Yue Academy was founded in the 59th year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1720). Its original site is located in Tian Yue Village, Sanyang Township, Yueshan County, Xiaotian, hence the name.

Forty years after Qianlong (1775), he moved to Nanqingshi Lane, the county seat;

Tongzhi for six years (1867), imitating the system of "Yuelu" and "Chengnan", was put forward by gentry Zhang, Li Zao and He Zhongji of Xu in Mawei County. There are 3 lecture halls, 3 academic affairs offices, 28 study rooms, 3 Quzi Temple and Song Jiujun Temple, and 3 library buildings in the south. The building is spacious, strategic and elegant. The temples and buildings have been abandoned and the main body is intact. The inscription of "Tian Yue Academy" is embedded horizontally in front of the door, and the calligraphy of "Tian Zi Di Wei" and "Yuezhi Yuan Yue" are embedded on the east and west sides of the door respectively. The handwriting is vigorous and beautiful. It is said that it is the calligraphy of Li or Zhong Changqin. Calendar is an important place for lectures.

In the 28th year of Guangxu (1902), it was changed to Pingjiang Primary School, and later to Pingjiang Higher School, Normal School, Middle School and Pingjiang No.1 Middle School. 1 On July 22nd, 928, Peng, Teng, and other China * * * party member organized here, led the 1st1regiment and 3rd regiment of the 5th Army Division of the National Revolutionary Army to hold the famous "Pingjiang Uprising", and established the 5th Army of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants represented by Peng Weijun and Teng. Opened up the Hunan-Jiangxi revolutionary base area.

1930 On July 22nd, Peng, the head of the Red Third Army Corps, launched and commanded more than 200,000 Red Army and Red Guards to attack Changsha again, and captured Changsha City in one fell swoop on July 27th.

1945, Wang Zhen and Wang Shoudao led the 359th Brigade of the Eighth Route Army south, passing through Pingjiang, and the headquarters was also stationed in the academy.

On July 1949 and 18, representatives of the two parties held the first meeting of peaceful liberation negotiations in Hunan. 1959 The People's Government of Hunan Province announced the Pingjiang Uprising Site (including Tian Yue Academy) as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.

On July 22nd, 1985, Pingjiang Uprising Memorial Hall was grandly opened.

The State Council announced the Pingjiang Uprising Site as a national key cultural relic protection unit. On July 22nd of the same year, the 60th anniversary celebration of Pingjiang Uprising was held in the former site. On behalf of the Central Military Commission, Wang Ping, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, attended the unveiling ceremony and the foundation laying ceremony of Comrade Peng's bronze statue.

1990, the bronze statue of Peng with a horizontal knife and a horse presented by the Central Military Commission stood in front of the old site of the uprising and built a bronze statue square of 2,400 square meters. The bronze statue is made of pure blue uranium, with a height of 4.12m, a weight of 3.70t and a base height of 3m. It is engraved with the "bronze statue of Comrade Peng" inscribed by Chairman and First Vice Chairman Yang. In the same year124, leaders of the party, government and army at the central, provincial, municipal and county levels and people from all walks of life in Pingjiang gathered in the square to hold Peng Huaide. Xiong Qingquan, secretary of Hunan Provincial Party Committee, presided over the unveiling ceremony, and Song Renqiong, deputy director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC, delivered a speech on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission. Dozens of revolutionary predecessors such as Zhang zhen, Ju Guangda, Wang Shoudao, Liu Jian,, Pei, Li Rui, Tian Changjiang and relatives of Pingjiang Uprising leaders such as Peng Dehuai, Teng Daiyuan and Huang Gonglue successively wrote inscriptions for site of the pingjiang uprising or came to pay their respects. There are tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists every year.

1995, Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Yueyang Municipal Committee designated site of the pingjiang uprising as "patriotism education base" and "youth education base" respectively.

1998, in order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Pingjiang Uprising, more than 800,000 yuan was invested to overhaul and re-exhibit the former site, which enriched the "Historical Materials Exhibition of Pingjiang Uprising". 1997 The preparatory committee for the 70th anniversary of Pingjiang Uprising adopted the suggestion of Pingjiang County Cultural Bureau to build a monument to Pingjiang Uprising, and expropriated 0.5 mu of land about 20 meters in front of site of the pingjiang uprising (Tian Yue Academy). Liu Rukai, an associate professor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, was hired to design and paint the Pingjiang Uprising Monument built by the institute. It is an excellent modern relief exquisite craft building. The monument is 5.5m high and 1 1 m wide. It consists of red sandstone and granite. The five main figures in the relief painting are "General Peng pulls out his horse with a horizontal knife" standing in the middle, two on the left and two on the right. On the left, one is "Pingjiang Uprising and Capturing the City", one is "A festive scene of the establishment of the Red Fifth Army and the Soviet Union in Pingjiang County", while on the right, the other is "Uprising troops and local guerrillas go to the city to rescue the working people" and one is a memorial made by Pingjiang County Party Committee and Pingjiang County People's Government. At the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Pingjiang Uprising, Lieutenant General Ou Yangwen, former editor-in-chief of the People's Liberation Army Daily, unveiled the monument.

In February 2005, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Cultural Relics Bureau and the Tourism Bureau listed the Pingjiang Uprising Site in the list of "National Red Tourism Classic Scenic Spot" and "National Red Tourism Boutique Route". Pingjiang Uprising Memorial Hall was named as "Youth Education Base" and "National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base" by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China.
