Shui Tiao Songtou·When will the bright moon appear

Su Shi [Song Dynasty]

Bingchen Mid-Autumn Festival After a long day of drinking, I was very drunk and wrote this article because I was pregnant with my son.

When will the bright moon appear? Ask the sky for wine. I don’t know what year it is today in the palace in the sky. I want to ride the wind back home, but I am afraid that it will be cold in the high places. Dance to figure out the shadow, how does it seem to be in the human world. (What is like a word: when; and a word of fear: only/for fear)

Turning to the Zhu Pavilion, lowering the Qihu, the light is sleepless. There shouldn't be any hatred, so what's the point of saying goodbye? People have joys and sorrows, separations and reunions, and the moon waxes and wanes. This is a difficult thing in ancient times. I hope that people will live long and travel thousands of miles to meet Chanjuan. (Chang Xiang Yi Zuo: Bias)

Translation

On the Mid-Autumn Festival of the Bingchen year (1076 AD), I drank happily until dawn, got very drunk, and wrote this This poem also misses my younger brother Su Che.

When did the bright moon first appear? I held my wine glass and asked the sky. I don’t know what year it is tonight in the palace in the sky. I wanted to use the wind to go back to the sky to have a look, but I was worried that the jade building was too high and I couldn't stand the cold. I stood up and danced, admiring my clear shadow under the moonlight. There was no place in the moon palace compared to the human world.

The moon moved, turned around the vermilion pavilion, and hung low on the carved windows, illuminating those who were not sleepy. The bright moon shouldn't have any resentment towards people, but why does it always become full when people leave? People undergo changes in joys and sorrows, and the moon waxes and wanes. This matter has been difficult to understand since ancient times. I hope people can stay together for a long time and enjoy this beautiful moon together even if they are thousands of miles apart.

Qingpingle·Village Living

Xin Qiji [Song Dynasty]

The eaves are low and the stream is On the green grass. When drunk, Wu Yin is very charming, but who is the old lady with gray hair?

The eldest son is hoeing beans to the east of the stream, while the middle son is weaving a chicken coop. What I like most is when my child dies and I lie down at the head of the stream and peel off the lotus pods. (Same death: none)

Translation

The eaves of the thatched cottage are low and small, and the stream is covered with green grass. The drunken Wu dialect sounds gentle and beautiful. Whose parents-in-law are those with white hair?

The eldest son is weeding in the bean field east of the creek, and the second son is weaving chicken coops at home. My favorite naughty little son, he is lying in the grass at Xitou, peeling off the newly picked lotus pods.

Introduction to Xin Qiji

Xin Qiji (1140-1207) was a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty. His original name was Tanfu, changed to You'an, and his nickname was Jiaxuan. He was Han nationality and a native of Licheng (now Jinan, Shandong). When he was born, the Central Plains was occupied by Jin soldiers. At the age of 21, he joined the anti-Jin rebel army and soon returned to the Southern Song Dynasty. He has successively served as the pacifier of Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, and eastern Zhejiang. He devoted his life to resisting gold. He once published "Ten Comments on Meiqin" and "Nine Discussions" to lay out strategies for war and defense. His poems express the patriotic enthusiasm of trying to restore the country's unity, express his grief and indignation about the unrealistic ambitions, and condemn the humiliation of the then rulers for peace; there are also many works that sing about the mountains and rivers of the motherland. The subject matter is broad and he is good at using allusions from previous generations into the lyrics. The style is majestic and heroic yet not lacking in delicacy and femininity.

Because Xin Qiji's anti-golden ideas were inconsistent with the political views of the peace faction in power, he was later impeached and dismissed from office, and retired to Daihu, Jiangxi.

Ru Meng Ling·Last Night's Rain and the Storm

Li Qingzhao [Song Dynasty]

Last Night's Rain The wind blows suddenly, and the remaining wine cannot be eliminated by heavy sleep. When I asked the person behind the curtain, I found that Begonia was still the same. Do you know, do you know? It should be green, red and thin.

Translation

Although it rained sparsely last night, the wind kept blowing hard, and I was still drunk after a sound night's sleep. When I asked the maid who was rolling up the curtain how the situation was outside, she said that the crabapple flowers were still the same as yesterday. Do you know? Do you know? At this time of year, the green leaves should be luxuriant and the red flowers withered.

Li Qingzhao

Li Qingzhao (March 13, 1084 - May 12, 1155), named Yi An, was a Han nationality and a native of Zhangqiu, Jinan, Shandong Province. She was a female poet in the Song Dynasty (at the turn of the Southern and Northern Song Dynasties), a representative of the Wanyue Ci School, and was known as "the most talented woman throughout the ages." In the early stage of his poems, he wrote mostly about his leisurely life, and in the later stage, he mostly lamented his life experience and had a sentimental mood. In terms of form, he makes good use of line drawing techniques, creates his own channels, and uses clear and beautiful language. The argument emphasizes the law of association, advocates elegance, puts forward the saying "don't be the same family" in lyrics, and opposes writing lyrics in the same way as poetry. He is capable of poetry, but not much remains. Some of his chapters are timely and historical, and his sentimental words are generous, which is different from his style of writing. There are "Collected Works of Yi An" and "Yi An's Ci", which have been lost. Later generations have a compilation of "Shu Yu Ci". Now there is "Li Qingzhao's Collection and Annotations".
