Gu originated in Huiji area (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province) and Guguo, Zhejiang Province (now Fanxian County, Henan Province), and gave his own surname, his own surname and other brothers.

During the Xia Dynasty, descendants of Kunwu were sealed in Guguo (now Fanxian County, Henan Province), and the nearby Bakungwu and Pengwei countries were the important pillars of the Xia Dynasty in the lower reaches of the Yellow River and the barrier of the East. In the late summer and early Shang Dynasty, Gu was destroyed by Shang Tang. Gu Kaizhi, a generalist in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and Yixi period, was proficient in poetry and calligraphy, especially in painting, and was known as a "genius, painter and idiot". His paintings are mainly portraits, immortals, Buddha statues, animals, landscapes and so on.

Gu, a native of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, is knowledgeable. There are studies on national canon system, anecdotes of counties and cities, astronomical phenomena, canals, soldiers and peasants, classics and history, phonological exegesis and so on. He is one of the most respected scholars in the history of our country, and he is the author of Rizhilu and five phonological works.
