Zhong You had a great influence on the history of calligraphy in China. His accomplishments in regular script are extremely high, and he is called "the originator of regular script" by later generations, and is also called "Zhong Wang" with Wang Xizhi. For his son Zhong Hui, Zhong You often tries his best to persuade him that Zhong Hui will finally make a big difference. In Shu Duan, Tang called it: "Be more muscular, be more beautiful, and be good at calligraphy. I am floating in the air and have the ambition of Lingyun. " He and his father are called "big and small clocks".
