Liu Shaobai’s experience

Liu Shaobai was 12 years old when he first encountered traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting. At the age of 13, he studied painting with a teacher. At the age of 16, he came to Beijing alone and studied calligraphy and painting with Mr. Qi Liangchi, the fourth son of Qi Baishi. Liu Shaobai was born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine, but eventually chose the path of painting. When Liu Shaobai was 17 years old, Qi Liangchi mentioned on one of his seal cutting margins that "Shaobai's imitation of Old Man Baishi's seal cutting can be very confusing." When he was 18 years old, Qi Liangchi also praised, "Shao Bai is only eighteen years old, and his freehand brushwork It’s quite interesting and not easy.” It was such an octogenarian who carved Liu Shaobai's piece of raw jade into an increasingly exquisite and transparent piece, thereby opening the door to Liu Shaobai's art in calligraphy, painting, and seal carving, and he has been out of control ever since.

Liu Shaobai has the true biography of two masters of calligraphy and painting, Mr. Qi Liangchi, the fourth son of Qi Baishi, and Mr. Cui Zhiqiang, secretary-general of the Seal Engraving Art Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. Standing on the shoulders of Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi and Wang Yong, three giants of calligraphy, painting and seal cutting, Liu Shaobai climbed all the way up the rock. As an art magazine once said: "I dare not say that Liu Shaobai is the best seal carver of this era, but currently Liu Shaobai is the seal carver with the most potential and investment prospects of this era."
