Hushan is located about 1 km south of the city. Its main peak looks like a crouching tiger, facing north and overlooking Jiangcheng. In ancient times, it was the town mountain of the city. The foot of the mountain is limestone of Shitoushan Formation and the top of the mountain is red sandstone of Qujiang Group. The unconformity contact interface between them is very clear. There is a Binyang Cave on the mountain and a crane spring at the foot. The spring water is sweet and has a large flow.
2.4.2.2 Xishan Scenic Area
Xishan has now been planned as a forest park, with dense forests that cover the sky. In addition, there are strange stones, caves and clear springs in the mountains.
◎ Jigongshan: Located at the southern end of Xishan, north of Mulian Cave. The rock on the top of the mountain looks like a sonorous rooster, facing Tiger Mountain in the southeast and guarding the gateway to the south of Jiangshan.
◎ Yun Jie Cave: Yun Jie Cave is in the south of Jigong Mountain, the size of a hall. There are "Jiangyang Cave" inscribed by Jiang Zhili, a native of Yanling, Quzhou County, and "Natural Stone Chamber" inscribed by Jiang Zhili. The left and right sides of the cave are engraved with the words "seeking fun" and "Zhongyuan" respectively. According to legend, Xu Cun gave lectures here in the Southern Song Dynasty.
◎ Mulian Cave: Mulian Cave is located in the northeast of the mountain peak, with a width of 6M, which can be reached from north to south. There are inscriptions in the cave, such as "No man, the source of running water, the green hole gives birth to a spring". Calligraphy is vigorous and skillful. Standing in front of the cave and looking from afar, the water is like a belt, the mountains are like a screen, and the fireworks in the city are vivid.
◎ Meiquan: Under the Mulian Cave, according to records, it is said that Zhou Bingji, a hermit in the Yuan Dynasty, once lived and gave lectures here. He likes plum trees very much. He planted dozens of plum trees by the spring, hence the name. This spring is crystal clear all year round. It is made of stone into three pools, the upper pool is used for drinking, the middle pool is used for washing clothes, and the lower pool is used for watering the vegetable garden. Between the four walls of the upper pool, there is a stone tablet with a "Meiquan" at the end.
In addition, a wide variety of paleontological fossils, rich and colorful mineral rocks, structural features and the famous Cambrian-Ordovician boundary stratotype section in the practice area are all good geological tourism resources.
