Wu Zuoren (1908 1 199713 October-19 April 1997), male, from jingxian county, Xuancheng, Anhui province, from Suzhou, Jiangsu province, 1926 entered the building of Suzhou Vocational and Technical College.
In his early years, he devoted himself to sketch and oil painting, and in his later years, he specialized in Chinese painting, with a broad realm and far-reaching influence. He combines Chinese and Western arts, and his image is concise and accurate. He is another leading figure in China art world after Xu Beihong.
Wu Zuoren was the president, vice president and dean of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the vice chairman of China Artists Association. He was elected as a deputy to the First to Sixth National People's Congress and a member of the Sixth the NPC Standing Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the Seventh China People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Standing Committee of the NLD Central Committee and the director of the Cultural Committee. He is currently a professor, honorary president of Central Academy of Fine Arts and chairman of China Artists Association.
