Wang Kuang, a calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, was born in Linyi (now Shandong). Father of the famous calligrapher Wang Xizhi. Li Guan Danyang satrap, Huainan civil history, Huainan satrap, good at managing books.
Wang Xizhi's calligraphy not only shows simplicity and abstinence based on Laozi and Zhuangzi's philosophy, but also shows harmony based on Confucian doctrine of the mean. In the history of calligraphy, he was called "Zhong Wang" with Zhong You and "Two Kings" with his son Wang Xianzhi.
Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Collection of Lanting is highly praised by calligraphers of all ages and is known as "the best running script in the world".
