At dawn, before dawn, the waning moon is shallow, Wei Yun begins to open, and the dawn angle wails. The natural scenery in the poet's eyes is slightly sad and has a low style. In a blink of an eye, the sky was bright and the scenery in front of me was suddenly enlightened. The breeze blows the Huaihe River, causing countless fish-scale ripples.
The poet's drowsiness gradually disappeared. While enjoying the scenery, he looked back on his life and tasted himself: he had traveled here for nine times, including newcomers and criminals, rising and falling, drifting, as if in a dream.
Today, I passed this familiar Huaishang for the tenth time, and many past events, ups and downs, loss and melancholy, filled my heart. However, the clear mountains and rivers attracted him so strongly that the poet decided to return to the rivers and lakes.
In the seventh year of Yuan You in the Northern Song Dynasty (1092), just after the New Year, spring came back to the earth and it was warm and harmonious. At the Guanhe Wharf in Yingzhou, Su Shi stood at the bow and said goodbye to the folks who came to see me off. He had just worked here for half a year when he received an imperial decree and was transferred to Yangzhou as a magistrate.
The ship reached the Tongji Canal of the Grand Canal and then entered the Huaihe River. Su Shi is really familiar with this journey. Think that year, he just passed the new Jinshi, and his father Su Xun died in Beijing. He and his younger brother Su Zhe helped him return to Shu and took this waterway.
Because he was still a young bureaucrat and had great filial piety, Yangzhou was a fascinating place, but it passed like this. Maybe he didn't think that many years later, he would become the party secretary and mayor of this city.
