Famous writers of regular script in past dynasties

Regular script is simpler and faster than official script, and more standardized and readable than cursive script, so it has been widely used as a standard font since Chinese characters appeared, which has great practical value.

There are many famous regular script writers in the past dynasties. The four most famous ones are Ou Yangxun (European style), Yan Zhenqing (Yan style), Liu Gongquan (Liu Ti) and Zhao Mengfu (Zhao Ti).

Ou Yangxun was born in the first year of Yongding, Emperor Wu of the Southern Dynasties (557). He is famous for his regular script and running script. As the biggest regular script writer in the history of calligraphy, his handwriting is called "European style".
