The purpose is to collect, protect and study the historical materials of China sea salt culture in an all-round and multi-angle way, and to reflect and display the historical civilization of China sea salt. Yancheng has a history of more than two thousand years. Built by salt, named after salt, and prospered by salt. It is the source of long-standing sea salt culture in the lower reaches of Huaihe River and Yellow Sea. The history of Yancheng is a microcosm of the development history of China sea salt, and the completion of China Sea Salt Museum is to reflect the comprehensive influence of the development history of sea salt on specific areas including Yancheng.
