Is Hanshu a calligraphy font?

Hanshu is a calligraphy font.

Calligraphy fonts can be divided into five categories according to the writing form, namely: seal script, official script, cursive script, running script and regular script. Hanshu is composed of ancient prose, variant script, seal script, strange seal script, auxiliary script and bird and insect script, among which seal script is one of the calligraphy fonts.

The Six Laws of Hanshu is actually a collation of the Eight Laws of Shu Qin.

Structural characteristics of seal script

1, rectangular in shape and vertical in trend. The small seal character is long, which is different from the square and round potential of the big seal character and the bronze inscription. There are no strokes such as apostrophe, press and hook in Xiao Zhuan, only straight lines and arcs.

2, horizontal flat vertical, white evenly. Xiao Zhuan has no dashed strokes, and is mainly composed of horizontal lines, vertical lines and arcs. Compared with other calligraphy styles, it is very distinctive and decorative.

3, tight and loose, sometimes symmetrical. The seal script is tight on the top and loose on the bottom, and the visual center moves up, giving people a feeling of being tall and strong. The characters of seal script, like official script and regular script, have independent structure, up-down structure, left-right structure and enclosing structure, while the symmetrical structure of seal script is not found in other characters. Individual seal characters are completely symmetrical, which is quite different from other fonts.

4. Independent structure. Generally, there are few strokes, which are characterized by tight top and loose bottom, uniform white cloth and stable center.
