Swallows and boats, willow branches and cicadas, this kind of embroidery is refreshing.

Suzhou embroidery, people's traditional impression of it comes from the charm and agility of Jiangnan water town. Meticulous, beautiful and generous, good at expressing complex things with changeable stitches.

Mountains and rivers can be divided into near and far interests; The pavilion has a deep body; Characters can have vivid feelings; Flowers and birds can show elegant intimacy.

However, in the pending APP, there is a tribe called "Victoria's Secret Art Suzhou Embroidery", which is quite different from these traditional labels.

The members of the "Victoria's Secret Art Suzhou Embroidery" tribe are a group of young people who love Suzhou embroidery. They are full of energy and want to sketch a new world with their needles at any time and anywhere.

Suzhou Embroidery is the same, but the style of "Victoria's Secret Art Suzhou Embroidery" is indifferent, the Buddhist attitude, the simple aesthetic design, and the concept of "few people say it is difficult".

The formation of this situation naturally has a great relationship with tribal leaders, but the leader of Missu embroidery art happens to be a Buddhist youth.

One stitch | two generations

Zhang Xue was born in an embroidery family, and his mother Xue Jindi is the representative inheritor of Suzhou embroidery intangible cultural heritage.

Xue Jindi, an embroiderer since childhood, is almost obsessed with Suzhou embroidery. She wants to have a daughter and learn Su embroidery from her when she grows up. Although she didn't do this, she named her son Zhang Xue.

Zhang Xue did well in school. He is an undergraduate majoring in international trade at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics. At school, he applied for a master's degree in management from the University of Leeds. Later, he worked as an intern in a financial company in Nanjing, and he also successfully joined the company. But in the end, he gave up. In the summer of 20 1 1, Zhang Xue returned to his hometown, Zhenhu, Suzhou, and picked up a needle and thread.

This choice may be surprising, but Zhang said that she was determined to learn embroidery because she found that young people didn't learn embroidery. In his hometown, there were 8,000 embroidered mothers engaged in Suzhou embroidery at the peak of embroidery, but now there are very few.

On the one hand, Suzhou embroidery, as the first batch of intangible cultural heritage in China, has great development prospects; On the other hand, Zhang Xue didn't want to see her mother's lifelong career not inherited, so she temporarily gave up the outside world and returned to her nest to create with peace of mind.

Zhang Xue's initial love for Suzhou embroidery came from her mother's influence. But it is also Suzhou embroidery, and the mother and son treat it with diametrically opposite concepts.

Xue Jindi is a recognized master; Her embroidery is exquisite and lifelike, and everything can be displayed between flying needles and silk threads. Su embroidery can best reflect the level of kitten goldfish, and she can embroider with ease. She is obsessed with embroidery, embroidered oil paintings and ancient calligraphy and painting. Her works won many awards and were presented to foreign top leaders.

Zhang Xue is a maverick embroiderer; His works subvert the tradition, abstract literature and art, fresh and concise. He is willing to try the ethereal artistic conception of mountains and rivers, the vast cosmic stars and the wild seasons.

Zhang Xue's works have also been recognized by many competitions, but he prefers to teach young people, share the fun of embroidery with others and share his own experience. So, he came to the tribe to be founded, "Victoria's Secret Art Suzhou Embroidery".

As a chief, he displayed many works in the tribe.

Work "Buddha": A few simple cases, a small incense burner, a column of tall and straight incense jumping on the ground, cigarettes rushing up and winding into a cursive word "Buddha", because of this work, he was nicknamed "Buddha Youth" by waiting netizens.

He gets along with waiting, just like having a heart-to-heart conversation with a Taoist friend. More interestingly, he seems to have formed a tacit understanding with other members of the tribe. When he matched his works, the members gave him poems.

The work "Four Seasons" is very concise. Spring is a boat for two swallows, summer is a willow branch cicada, autumn is a lotus fish, and winter is two sparrows whose bamboo branches have not fallen. Zhang Xue himself likes Autumn very much, so he also set it as a tribal totem.

The same is true of the work Duckweed in the Fish Play. The needle and thread smudged the dark fish and lotus leaves, and the picture was empty and the lotus leaves were scattered. This work vividly shows the freedom and fun of fish.

Zhang Xue occasionally basks in his mother's works, and this painting "Snow Bamboo and Birds" makes his tribe members very excited. Bamboo leaves are covered with fine snow, and grass grows in troubled times. It seems that birds can be heard in silence.

In addition to embroidery works, Zhang Xue also tried many cross-border cooperation, such as applying embroidery elements to headphones, watches, miniature furniture, three-dimensional exhibits and so on. Zhang Xuexue said: "I have always wanted to tell the world that Suzhou embroidery can be simple and beautiful and can return to modern life."

Going out for inspiration, he will share with members what interesting embroidery works he usually sees and participate in various exhibitions. Only by loving a group of people gathered together and living in harmony with the same beliefs can we go further.

Simplicity, extreme and fun are the eternal themes of Zhang Xue's works, and also the philosophy of life that he wants to pass on to everyone. The things in front of you are too haggle over every ounce, and the poems in the distance are too ethereal, but you can join the "Victoria's Secret Art Suzhou Embroidery" tribe to make your life a little empty.
