Brief Introduction to the Author of Calligraphy for Primary and Secondary School Students

Zhang Hu was born in 194 1. He is currently a member of the National Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the president and editor-in-chief of China Art Newspaper, the deputy secretary-general of China Calligraphers Association, the vice president of the Central State Organs Branch, the president of China Ecological Painting and Calligraphy Institute, the member of Chinese Writers Association and the academician of Singapore Calligraphers Association. Beginners began to learn calligraphy from Tang steles, first from Yan and Liu, and then from "Two Kings", and gradually formed their own style by reading famous steles of past dynasties. Its cursive brushwork is bold and unrestrained, natural and unrestrained, healthy, beautiful and casual. In May, 20001year, he was awarded the China Calligraphy Art Special Contribution Award.

Since 1980s, Zhang Hu's calligraphy works have participated in the National Calligraphy Exhibition, the 20th Century Calligraphy Exhibition, the Millennium Calligraphy Exhibition and the first exhibition of the China Calligraphy Lanting Award. He has also participated in international calligraphy exhibitions and calligraphy exchanges in Japan, New Zealand, Korea, the United States, France, Malaysia and Canada for many times, and given lectures abroad for many times. At the same time, he has served as a judge of calligraphy competitions and exhibitions at home and abroad for many times. 1985 held "Calligraphy Exhibition of Northwest Zhang Hu Tourism Photography" in Beijing, 1997 held "Calligraphy Exhibition of Shen Peng and Zhang Hu" in Taiwan, etc. Calligraphy works have been collected by many museums, selected into collections of calligraphy works of many newspapers and periodicals and China Calligraphy Dictionary, and made special reports by CCTV and People's Daily. His published works include Northwest Customs, Selected Novels and Proses by Zhang Hu, Essays, Zhang Hu Shu Yue Ya Wan Paper, She Yansong, Introduction to Calligraphy for Primary and Secondary School Students, and Zhang Hu Calligraphy Collection.
