Zhang Aijun, a native of Pei County, Jiangsu Province, studied at Hohai University with a doctor's degree in engineering, and is currently the Deputy Secretary-General of Xuzhou Municipal People's Government, Jiangsu Province. Member of China Calligraphers Association, executive director of China Calligraphers Association, honorary president of Peixian Painting and Calligraphy Institute in Jiangsu Province. Editor-in-chief or co-editor of dozens of monographs, such as The Essence of China's Contemporary Famous Calligraphers' Pen and Ink, China's Exquisite Collection of Calligraphy and Painting, China's Calligraphy and Painting Art in the Twentieth Century, and China's Hard Pen Calligraphy Encyclopedia.
Si Huiguo, a famous calligrapher from Dalian, Liaoning, is currently the vice chairman of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association and the president of Oriental Painting and Calligraphy Art Research Institute. One of the advocators of hard-pen calligraphy craze in China in 1980s. Successfully held a number of Beijing calligraphy and painting exhibitions such as the National Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Party. Editor-in-chief has published nearly 100 kinds of calligraphy and painting books, such as China Encyclopedia of Calligraphy and Painting and China Encyclopedia of Hard Pen Calligraphy.
Calligrapher Ren Xumin is currently the director of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, the teaching and training professor of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, the vice chairman of Liaoning Hard Pen Calligraphy Association and the chairman of Fuxin Hard Pen Calligraphy Association. A number of hard-pen copybooks have been published, and hard-pen calligraphy works have won the hard-pen gold medal in the national painting and calligraphy competition for six times.
