Song Huaping has worked in the Henan Calligraphers Association for 26 years since 1984. In 1997, he served as the Secretary-General of the Henan Calligraphers Association and has presided over the work of the Henan Calligraphers Association for 13 years. Over the past 13 years, Henan calligraphy has developed healthily and sustainably, moving from one level to a new level, and from one height to a new height. Henan has achieved the best results in the three Chinese Calligraphy France Pavilion Art Awards that have been held. Since Song Huaping was elected as the chairman (and secretary-general) of the Henan Calligraphers Association in 2007, the Henan Calligraphers Association has made new strides. Due to his outstanding work, he was named the "2008 Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Person of the Year" (initiated by China Painting and Calligraphy News ), "Top Ten Figures of the Year in Chinese Calligraphy in 2009" (initiated by Calligraphy News and Calligraphy Magazine), and was rated as "Advanced Individual in the Chinese Calligrapher Entering Thousands of Homes" by the Chinese Calligraphy Association.

His calligraphy works have won the gold medal of the "Longmen Award", the highest calligraphy award in Henan Province. He has visited Japan, Singapore, Canada, France, Italy, South Korea and other countries many times, and held calligraphy exhibitions in Japan.
