What paper is the best for writing brush strokes?
In calligraphy, there has always been a saying that "Hui Xuan, Hu Bi", as the name implies, is Anhui Xuan Paper+Hunan Bi, but when it comes to actual calligraphy, it depends on the font. Generally, characters with strong steel bars need a "soft pen" like wool, and elegant and smart fonts use a "hard pen" like wolf hair. As for rice paper, there are raw rice paper, cooked rice paper and semi-cooked rice paper. The difference lies in water absorption. Generally, "static type" uses rice paper with general water absorption, and "movable type" uses cooked rice paper or semi-cooked rice paper with good water absorption!
