"Ming Xu Wei Reciting Poems on Donkey's Back", scroll, paper, ink, now in the National Palace Museum, Taipei. There is no inscription or seal by Xu Wei in "The Picture of Xu Wei Reciting Poems on the Back of a Donkey in the Ming Dynasty". There are only two paragraphs of identification text by Da Chongguang and Zhang Xiaosi, two connoisseurs of calligraphy and painting in the early Qing Dynasty. "Chong Guang Appraisal", the lower right is "painted with calligraphy, which is often seen among ancients. Although there is no identification of this painting, it is doubtful that the writing style of Mr. Xu Wenchang is "Lanyi Zhang Xiaosi Jian". Since then, this painting has been recognized as an authentic work by Xu.
