Personal profile

Qi Fuliang, 1935, born in Baishipu, Xiangtan, Hunan Province, is the son of Qi Jisheng, the eldest grandson of Qi Baishi's "Southern School". In his early years, he studied painting with his great-grandfather Qi Baishi in Beijing, and was the last disciple of Baishi. Later, he moved to Xinjiang. Over the past half century, Qi Bi Geng has been incessant, pushing the exquisite brushwork of Qi Pai's shrimp and crab paintings to the extreme and even bringing forth new ideas. At the same time, he gave a clever and accurate description of the customs of the Silk Road and the northern and southern Tianshan Mountains, especially the fruits, flowers and insects in the western regions.

works appreciation

In 2006, when Mr Qi Fuliang learned that China had won the bid for the Olympic Games, his heart vibrated and he couldn't sleep at night. Looking at the portrait of his great-grandfather Qi Baishi on the wall, he was full of thoughts, remembering Qi Baishi's early teachings: "Fu Liang, you can draw shrimps with me, and you can also draw shrimps well, and you won't live up to his great-grandfather's trust ..." He was determined to start painting, making a gift for the Olympic Games and making a wish for his great-grandfather. A bold and wonderful idea jumped into my mind. China people respect the "dragon". Then, can they come to On Behalf Oflong with their traditional shrimp, which they are good at painting, and symbolize the Olympic spirit with the meaning of dragons making waves at sea?

Naughty dragon scrolls 1 12m, symbolizing the Olympic Games 1 12, and * * * painted shrimp in 2008, representing 2008. "Because my great-grandfather was famous for painting shrimp, I donated this shrimp to the Olympic Games in the name of my great-grandfather." Qi Fuliang said this.

works appreciation

Works such as Cats Playing with Hami Melons and Cats Playing with Butterflies are original. Furry kittens, some playing chasing butterflies, have distinct coat colors and three-dimensional realism, while the melon skin of Hami melon has delicate lines, just like real objects. These works amazed the audience. In order to draw the fine lines on the melon skin of Hami melon, we practiced repeatedly and finally created a new drawing method-drawing vines, leaves and flowers on the front of rice paper and drawing the color of melon on the back. This kind of painting in reverse color can be called Qi's original creation.

The shrimps in "Group of Shrimps" and "Group of Dragons" have different shapes and are lifelike, which is quite a "legacy of Baishi".
