The best way to open a brush is as follows:
Step 1
Prepare a small bowl of warm water and a new, unopened brush. In summer, just use normal temperature water. If the weather is cold, add some hot water and it will feel slightly warm.
Step 2
Put the new brush into the bowl and let the water submerge the entire pen tip. Be careful not to bend the bristles during soaking. If the bristles of a new pen are bent when soaked for the first time, then the pen has failed.
Step 3
Sheep hair and wolf hair can be fully opened. The picture is the effect after soaking. Just spread it all out. Don't force the pen tip to open at the beginning. After soaking, you can apply a little pressure and gently twist it. Don't use too much force because the pen is glued at this time. Use too much force. Excessive force may cause damage.
Step 4
Gently squeeze out the glue from the pen seal with your hands. This is very important. The tip of the brush should be fully opened, but the glue at the base of the brush should not be melted, otherwise it will become a "dropped brush".
Step 5
If it is purple hair, because the brush hair is hard, it should be soaked in water for a while. By soaking, the new brush will be opened. Just suck off the excess. of water can be used.
How long should the brush be soaked after opening:
Under normal circumstances, soaking it in water for 10 minutes is enough.
In winter, it is best to soak in warm water, but not hot. Hot water can easily burn the tip of the pen. It is recommended to use water at normal temperature. This is the best. If you need to use warm water, I personally suggest that warm water with a temperature below 45°C or lower is more suitable. Water with a temperature that is too high may cause the pen tip to fall off and also cause damage. The elasticity of the brush decreases. Generally, depending on the soaking condition of the brush, soaking it in water for 10 minutes can complete the unsealing process.
How to wipe water after opening the brush:
You can wipe it with a soft cloth, toilet paper, or raw rice paper.
After soaking, wipe off the water on the bristles of the pen, and be sure to wipe it along the bristles. Don't wipe hard, and don't rub the pen bristles vigorously back and forth on the table in order to wipe away the water on the pen bristles. To be precise, it doesn't matter if there is some water left on the new pen.
How to dip the brush in ink after opening it:
1. After the water on the brush bristles is mostly wiped clean, start dipping it in ink.
2. Dip all the brush bristles into the ink and soak them for a while. Let the pen tip absorb enough ink before using it. Do not dip only half or more than half.
3. Especially larger brushes need to fully absorb ink, otherwise they will expand, which is not conducive to writing.
Although we only use most of the brush hairs when writing, rather than using all of them, we must fill it up with ink when we first dip it in ink, so that the brush hairs can be connected into one, and the strength will be stronger when writing. It can be used on the pen end.
