Don't ask, just practice! (with a friend's pen selection guide)

This is the first time to seriously write an article on how to practice writing. Although I don't know whether it is valuable or educational, I will try my best.

I have seen some posts discussing how to answer the pen after work before, and the reference should vary from person to person. Unmodestly speaking, I am the kind of person who writes beautifully since I was a child. Since primary school, all kinds of writing competitions are basically the first prize. Later, I joined the Young Calligraphers Association and other organizations, taught some Chinese and foreign friends, and thanked my grandparents who taught me to practice calligraphy since I was a child. So this post is not only my idea of practicing calligraphy, but also their thoughts and experiences.

First, be sure to use a pen. What kind of art pen, water-based pen and gel pen can take a break. The strokes and strokes of the pen can't be compared with them. The characteristic of the pen is that it can show the changes of line thickness in detail. I was just a naughty little girl and picked up a pen at the request of my grandparents. Although I was rebellious and unaccustomed at first, I later found that the more I wrote, the more powerful I became. Because in the process of writing, you will gradually understand how to exert yourself. Therefore, a handy pen is necessary, which can be reflected in the overall counterweight. For example, the design with low center of gravity can better grasp the writing trend of the pen and show the desired strength and feeling, just like the craftsman's love and proficiency in tools. When carving with favorite tools, it is often more efficient and works better. In addition, the pen holding posture is very important, but it is not that important. The correct pen-holding posture emphasizes "the finger is solid and the palm is empty", so that the fingers can move freely, flexibly, moderately and strongly (the correct posture is shown below). My pen holding posture is not very correct either, but it doesn't hinder my pen holding and exertion. Of course, it would be better if the posture was standard from the beginning.

Secondly, structure is king. Remember, the copybook you learn must be your favorite font style. Of course, you can feel more different copybooks after practice and finally refine your own style, but only if you thoroughly understand the first copybook. Many people admire Tian Yingzhang's calligraphy, and I also think his calligraphy is very beautiful. However, he also has some unpleasant words. The so-called "no one is perfect" is also true, which requires you to practice more to melt the essence into yourself. I remember that Grandpa has a Dictionary of China Calligraphy at home, and every word contains the writing styles of calligraphers of past dynasties, and there are two kinds of cursive scripts, which are divided into gold and Kai Lee. You can bring one for your own reference. If you feel troublesome, you can also browse different fonts in the online search font generator. I have a small formula for structure, which my grandfather taught me. I can still remember it for years. I attach an example to each sentence and share it with you. If you don't understand, you can leave a comment and I will answer it seriously.

Practice the small formula of Chinese character structure

There are horizontal and short up and down (such as clouds), and many horizontal arrangements must be long (such as spring).

Parallel columns have more horizontal spacing (as in the eyes) and more vertical and parallel spacing (as in the article).

The left and right are slightly longer (such as Zhao), and the word is pressed twice before it changes (such as from).

Write to see the balance (if again), the upper and lower are equal and slightly smaller (if more).

The left and right sides are the same, from right to large (such as profit), and they are wrapped up vertically (if any).

Third, there must be guarantees from time to time. Find a needle, persevere, and adhere to the "three wants and three needs"-eyes, hands and heart. The eye is the condition, the heart is the central link, and the hand is the purpose; These three aspects are an organic whole, which are interrelated, influenced and promoted each other. It is always worthwhile to spare half an hour after work every day. Stick to it and it will work. To practice calligraphy, we should not only practice hard, but also read more posts. Through repeated contact, we can try to figure out, compare, understand and analyze all kinds of relationships in copybooks, and then embody the content of understanding in the text, so that it is easy to master and the progress is obvious. "Calligraphy has been amorphous since ancient times and has great charm." There is really no shortcut to reading posts, but this step is very important. Believe me, starting today, choose a good copybook, read it intensively every day, and carefully observe every detail in the copybook, such as how the example words are written and what the structure is. You can only write five words a day for a month, and the feel will be very different. When reading the copybook, don't write it yourself. Read the whole word, write one by heart, and then compare it with the original one. If there is something wrong, practice correcting it. The so-called "slow is fast", so do it again and again, and don't rush for success.

Finally, remind everyone once again that the shelf structure of words determines whether it looks good or not. From Mi Zige to the palace and then to the blank, don't ask, practice first! Don't pay too much attention to strength. What kind of writing is the key. Power is not always in the pen, but in the fingers that touch the paper. On the other hand, it seems that words with fewer strokes are more difficult to write, that's for sure. Because the more strokes, the easier it is to achieve structural balance. This is like a master playing tricks. The more patterns, the easier it is to find flaws. You can practice the word "flying home", strokes and balance first. There is also a "eight-character method", which makes sense (details can be found in Baidu).

Taking the eight strokes of the word "Yong" as an example, this paper illustrates the method of using the pen posture with the eight strokes of the word "Yong": the point is the side, the side edge is steep, and the strokes are stretched enough to close the front; Cross for fun, against the front of the paper, slowly rushing back, not flat with the front; Straight pen is an effort, not too straight. Too straight will be stiff and weak, but it must be straight and look at the curve; The hook is a pin (t √), and the front end of the pen is raised to concentrate the force on the nib; Raising the horizontal is the strategy, the stroke is straight, and the effective force is at the end of the stroke; Long left for the prey, straight strokes, slightly fat front, force to send; Short skimming is pecking, writing left, fast and sharp; Writing is true (philosophy), the countercurrent falls lightly, the front is slowly scattered, and the front is reserved.

The way to learn Chinese characters is not the beginning, but the middle, and then the meeting. At the meeting, people and books were old. I think, if the words are too ugly, that person is not wonderful. I hope everyone can practice calligraphy seriously.

All right, here are the ending eggs. My high school friend Fei Xia was recommended to write this pen. He is also one of the few people I know who writes elegantly with a pen. His original post is a bit long, so I only choose a clip (please don't hit me when you see it in summer).

1. Lamy Safari: Faithfulness and smoothness

After the pen tip left the paper, I got excited at first sight and began to examine it carefully. The shape design is really kung fu, the lines are simple and straight, and they are integrated from head to toe, which makes people feel like something that is not assembled, and it is similar to Unibody. Moreover, there are some rebellions everywhere, especially the huge pen container and the screw cross on the top of the pen cover, which are obviously used to show spiritual values. Taking off the pen cover, the short and capable black nib looks like a low-key unsheathed xuangang knife with a thin "LAMY EF" clearly tattooed on it. In the dark night, the cold light was threatening, which reduced the temperature by four or five degrees. The knife drinks blood, and it drinks ink. The difference is that you can spit it out smoothly and evenly after drinking it, which is what I admire most about it. The pen I used to use often drove me crazy because I was either too stingy or too generous, and I often scraped paper one by one. No matter how twisted, abnormal and violent I write, Safari always adopts an attitude of "you are too weak to play with you" and slowly prints ink, as if it were not something outside, but an extension of my fingers.

Second, Japanese manufacturers' pens: easy to use and compatible

There are three popular ones: Syaraku, Baile and Platinum (I immediately think of something like the founding royal family). Of course, I haven't had a chance (mainly because I have no money) to try it all. I've only used one at present, but through teasing others and hearsay, I have some suitable standards, which are worthy of recommending Platinum Century 3776, which is easy to use and compatible.

There is a legend on the Internet that Japanese pens are more suitable for writing Chinese characters than those in Europe and America, because the Japanese write Chinese characters all day and dismember them. My personal experience is not so obvious. There are always people in the forum who say that Montblanc 146 and 149 are very comfortable in writing Chinese. After all, the signature pen of the founding royal family was also imitated by the dragon boss. Perhaps European and American pens did take into account the streamline writing habits of Latin letters when they were designed, so the ink is harsh and wide, which is not suitable for Chinese characters with many strokes and complicated structure, but there are also thinner pens to choose from, so pay attention when buying. If it's just writing, it doesn't matter if there are no professional requirements.

The price of Japanese pens is very flexible. There are hundreds to tens of thousands. The most expensive ones are basically showing off shells, solid wood, pure silver and paintings, which leads to the separation of use value and spiritual value. If you are not short of money, buy a pure gold pen, 50 thousand yuan, write a word "forever" full of cultural details, then lift your wrist lightly and look up at the stars, and the whole person will rise to the third class. Of course, as a down-to-earth person, I suggest choosing dozens of pieces.
