We decided to visit the stone carvings in Beishan first. It took only a few minutes from the company to Beishan, and we came to Beishan Stone Carving. When I walked to the gate, I felt a strong flavor of classical culture, and an ancient pagoda in the distance immediately attracted all my attention. The air in Beishan is really good, just like a paradise. After a long stone staircase, we came to the entrance of Beishan stone carving. An ancient archway stands tall and has witnessed many years of vicissitudes. There is a small handicraft shop in Dazu at the gate, and there are many introduction materials about Dazu stone carving for tourists to buy. After buying the tickets, we set out for the stone carving in Beishan under the guidance of the tour guide. It is a long stone staircase with trees on both sides, and the air quality is absolutely good. After a five-minute trek, we finally saw a dilapidated building, that is, the Beishan stone carving. I don't feel so comfortable to see such a beautiful stone sculpture surrounded by iron fences. However, in order to protect the cultural heritage from being destroyed, there is no better way for scenic spots. The stone carving in Beishan has a history of 1000 years, which lasted from the Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China. First of all, the earliest works we visited saw that the best preserved one was a statue of a protector with a majestic face. This statue is well preserved and has a clear outline, which shows us the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient craftsmen. Go on to the left, and you will see a statue.
12 avalokitesvara, the ancients said that a thousand represents more, so more than six hands are called avalokitesvara. The statue was badly weathered and his hands fell off. The ancients repaired it before, but it still hasn't been repaired. According to the tour guide, this house was built in 1952, which means that these statues were weathered by wind and rain before 1952. Further on, we will see siddhattha gotama, which was built in 565 BC. The tour guide also told us the story of the Buddha. Next to the Buddha statue, there is also a Guanyin Bodhisattva. The statue has a clear and well-preserved face and a fat figure. It is said that in the Tang Dynasty, fat was the beauty, so now the girl who lost weight should stop quickly! There are many figurines in the back, and through the corridor, you come to the statue works of the Northern Song Dynasty. The first thing I saw was two filial piety tablets and a filial piety pavilion. This is also a concentrated expression of some Confucian cultures, and then I saw Zhao's calligraphy, which is a major symbol of the Song Dynasty. The font is good, but it was destroyed by the treadmill. Then I saw the Guanyin statue in the Song Dynasty: Shuiyue Guanyin, and the posture was more graceful. The face of Guanyin in Song Dynasty is quite different from that in Tang Dynasty. So it also reflects the different aesthetics of different generations. Then I saw the abbot cave, which was just as big as an abbot, and then I saw the six-arm Guanyin and the pure bottle Guanyin, and then I saw the king of earth treasure, and then I went to Songzi Guanyin. Then I saw the Mona Lisa known as the East, which is the coquettish Guanyin. Then I saw four statues of donkey kong. Then I saw the best preserved statue of the prayer wheel hiding hole, and then I was deeply moved by the peacock Wang Ming. Peacock riding is lifelike and very beautiful. Finally, I saw a statue of a Ming Dynasty official. He wanted to leave a name for everything, so he tore off Guanyin with thousands of hands and carved his own portrait. Although it sounds uncomfortable, this statue has a history of hundreds of years, which also provides a basis for our future generations to understand the culture at that time.
After visiting the stone carving, we went down to see the Buddha statue on the other side of the mountain, climbed a long stone ladder to the top of the mountain and saw many pagodas and a temple. Further on, there are two giant buddhas, well-preserved, well-defined and magnificent. It is also a classic of Dazu stone carving. After reading the stone carvings of Beishan Giant Buddha, the tour is over. The whole stone carving in Beishan is mainly Guanyin, and there are Guanyin statues in all previous dynasties. However, the stone carvings in Beishan also contain Buddhist and Confucian cultures. After thousands of years of history, they still stand tall in Beishan. It embodies the richness of ancient culture in China and people's greatest desire for faith. It also reflects people's yearning for a better life. The stone carvings in Beishan let us feel that Dazu has a long history.
In the afternoon, we came to Baodingshan Stone Carving, the most classic stone carving in Dazu. Baoding Mountain is about ten kilometers away from Dazu County. There are small shops selling farmhouse music and Dazu handicrafts everywhere along the way. When you arrive in Baoding town, you will see that most of them are antique buildings, which makes you feel back to thousands of years ago. Not far from Baoding Town, we come to Baoding Mountain Stone Carving Scenic Area, where there are various shops and many foreign tourists. Take a battery car in the parking lot for 3 minutes to the scenic reception center. The reception center is an ancient building of the quadrangle, and the antique music makes people easily enter a kind of artistic conception. The statue of Zhao Zhifeng stands firmly outside the door. This statue is lifelike.
The man who presided over the construction of Baoding was Zhao Zhifeng in the Southern Song Dynasty. Over the past 70 years, there are nearly 10,000 cliff statues centered on Manjuki, which are used for carving, decoration, drainage and lighting? They all pay attention to the beauty of form and artistic conception.
Guided by the tour guide, we came to the Baodingshan stone carving. When we entered the door, we saw the four characters of incense Baoding, and then we saw several Taoist statues. When we walked forward, we saw a lion. Its shape was very strange. It's hard to find this is a lion without a guide.
Next to the lion is the Jue Yuan Cave, which means complete enlightenment. The cave is 600 meters high and 900 meters wide, and there are 52 Buddha statues, which fully embodies the superb technology of the ancients. Lighting and drainage are very cleverly designed. Without the guidance of the tour guide, we never thought that the caves inside were not natural, but were dug by people, which shows the hardships of carving Dazu stone carvings and the superb skills of craftsmen at that time.
The "Dojo for Cowherd" is a group of stone carvings related to folklore. Describes the scene of how people tame cattle. The stone carvings are lifelike and the scene is lively. It depicts the hardships of practice, and you can't become a Buddha without going through penance. Then go ahead to the front gate. There is a statue of a tiger at the gate, but it is quite cartoon, a bit like a panda. The tour guide said that craftsmen had never seen a tiger carver. Then I saw the nine-cycle diagram. A big turntable embodies the personal view and world view in Buddhism, telling people that human nature is reincarnation, and karma is rewarded. Doing more good deeds can be like being on the right path in reincarnation. On the contrary, we can only walk on the road and be impressed by the pictures of cats and mice, which shows that we can't live or beg for death. Then I saw three giant buddhas, which were quite magnificent. One of them holds the tower height 1.85 meters and weighs more than 800 kilograms. The three giant buddhas all leaned forward 25 degrees, and could hold the tower in their hands for more than 800 years, which fully showed the sculptor's mastery of mechanics. Further on, there is the Goddess of Mercy Hall with Thousand Hands, resplendent and magnificent. One thousand and seven arms spread out around in an orderly way, and Guanyin appeared rich and peaceful, showing the prosperity of the prosperous times. I seem to see the Spring Festival Evening program "Guanyin with a Thousand Hands" again. It is said that Guanyin has infinite magic power and can relieve the suffering of the public. Every year on Guanyin's birthday, many people come to burn incense and worship Buddha. Guanyin statue is being repaired, but it's a pity that I didn't see the whole picture. Thousand-hand?Bodhisattva?
It is also a classic of Dazu stone carving and a wonderful flower in the world cultural heritage. Then I came out to see the sleeping Buddha statue, which is also the largest statue in Baoding stone carving. The sleeping position of the giant Buddha is natural. Then I saw a picture of the Prince of Kowloon, which shows that when the Buddha was born, nine dragons bathed him in the sky, and then the prince had diamond marks on his head to keep the perennial water from dripping from his head. Then we see a picture of parents caring for their children, which reflects the hardships of parents from the birth to the growth of their children, so that we can learn to be grateful, and then we can see how Buddha is filial to his parents. Inside, I saw a flute player with a history of more than 800 years. Her expression was beautiful. Then I saw an eighteen-story map of hell, various punishments, and a story about a young monk drinking wine. This story tells us not to make mistakes, and it is our responsibility not to let people around us make mistakes, let alone encourage others to make mistakes. This statue also vividly describes the 18 punishments in hell, which objectively reminds everyone to accumulate more virtues and do more good deeds in order to have a good end. Then I saw some more recent statues. Finally, I saw a few big characters, meaning that the predecessors hoped that our descendants would continue carving, but the later ones did not continue. Here we feel the good intentions and persistence of the ancients. Why didn't later generations continue to carve in the footsteps of their predecessors? These are all worthy of our deep thinking. Then I visited the stone carving scenic spot, but I didn't visit other landscapes in the scenic spot because of time.
