[Edit this paragraph] Cultural celebrity Lin Jingxi
The patriotic poet Lin Jingxi (1242～1310) of the Southern Song Dynasty was born in Tengjiao, Pingyang. He became a Jinshi in the seventh year of Xianchun. He successively served as a professor in Quanzhou, established a pavilion in the Ministry of Rites, and advanced to become a political minister. After the death of the Song Dynasty, he stopped serving as an official and lived in seclusion in Baishi Lane, Pingyang. His reputation was so important that scholars called him "Mr. Jishan".
Shi Boxuan
Shi Boxuan (1299～1354), a famous Yuan Confucian scholar, was born in Qiancang, Pingyang. He has studied Zhu Xi's teachings for thirty years and wrote "Guan Piao". He is known as the "Famous Confucian in the East China Sea". He is also very knowledgeable in astronomy, geography, history, and arithmetic, and he is "extremely knowledgeable" in all of them.
Song Pingzi
The Buddhist master Song Pingzi (1862～1910) was born in Wanquan Baoyang, Pingyang. When he was more than 20 years old, he learned Chinese and Western skills and became famous for a while. He was a Buddhist scholar who was proficient in both Buddhism and Confucianism in the late Qing Dynasty. People at that time praised him as one of the "Three Heroes of Eastern Zhejiang".

The centenary chess king Xie Xiaxun (1887～1988) was born in Fengchao, Pingyang, and later moved to Pingyang County. The pioneer of Chinese chess and the pioneer of Chinese international chess. Known as the "King of Chess".
