The structure of Wang Banzai’s works

Wang Banzai's later works are simple in composition, dripping with ink and wash, and are flexible in practice, and the colors are tranquil and profound. The flowers, trees, grass, insects and flying saucers in his paintings do not seem to be painted, often giving people the illusion that they have walked into the wild flowers. His late works often give people the impression of being done inadvertently. It is said that he often talked to himself while painting. However, if you savor it carefully, the writing is exquisite, and you will have a master's atmosphere, reaching the realm of "not intending to be good, but being good" and "not intending to be good, but being good". No wonder some people say that there are many descendants of the Qi sect, but there are only two people who can be called the masters, one is Li Kuchan and the other is Wang Banzai. Li Kuchan's painting captures Old Man Baishi's external tension and is able to capture nature in chaos, while Wang Banzai's painting captures Old Man Baishi's restrained power and is able to excel in simple slips.

Wang Banzai’s calligraphy can be seen everywhere. There is a couplet written by Wang Banzai in the Wang Family Memorial Hall in Gaoyou: "Father and son are great Confucians, admired by Chinese and foreign sects; Gaoyou Langya, different generations are all shining together." Hangzhou West Lake Youdao Qian wrote a sentence, and Wang Banzai wrote a couplet saying: "Purple clouds are thin and the road is endless; falling rocks fly. There is stillness and sound." The predecessor of Yangzhou Port was "Bian Port". What impressed people most at that time was not the architecture of the port, but the three characters "Yangzhou Port" inscribed by Mr. Wang Banzai. Later, when the port had a new inscription, Wang Banzai's inscription was removed.
