Speech on running for president of calligraphy club
Hello everyone! First of all, thank you very much for spending your precious time to listen to my speech; secondly, I would like to apologize to everyone for wasting everyone's time due to my limited level.
To be honest, I have wanted to hold the position of chairman since the establishment of our calligraphy club, or before its establishment. But this does not mean that I am an official fan, and the chairman of the calligraphy club is not an official. I just share the same love for the art of calligraphy as everyone here. It can also be said that there is a desire to organize more people to join our calligraphy family.
It is true that we have to accept the fact that it is difficult for calligraphy masters such as Wang, Ou, Liu, Yan, Su, Huang, Mi, Zhao, etc. to appear in contemporary times or even in the future. But this is not a reason why we don’t love calligraphy. Society has developed, and some arts are indeed inferior to those of the ancients, but we have an obligation and a responsibility to pass on the precious heritage left to us by our ancestors, so that it will shine more brightly and fully in the modern and complicated world. play its due role.
We know a common saying: What belongs to the nation belongs to the world. The art of calligraphy with Chinese characters is a precious heritage unique to our Chinese nation. Calligraphy contains the excellent cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, the profound wisdom of our ancestors, and our mankind’s unremitting pursuit of beauty. We should study, inherit and carry it forward with our heart.
Similar to our Go art, calligraphy is easy to get started with, difficult to master, and even harder to write in your own style. Once a person has mastered an art or a skill to a very high level, it will be difficult to improve it. From now on, what will be compared is personal cultural accomplishment and personal philosophical thinking. Therefore, I think that when studying calligraphy, you should also learn other knowledge and go see nature. I believe it will be helpful to improve your calligraphy level.
Our calligraphy club’s mission is to learn and research the art of calligraphy, develop calligraphy enthusiasts, and cultivate calligraphy talents. This is also something I want to do as a calligraphy enthusiast. If elected, I will definitely do my best to do these tasks well so that this wonderful art of our nation, the art of calligraphy, can take root, flourish, and bear fruit here. Thank you all!
I typed a few words casually without revising them seriously. If it looks good, you can polish it yourself. If it doesn’t work, throw it away.
