The leaf-clipping method is as follows:
The leaf-clipping method is a double outline method of leaves, that is, using ink lines to outline the shape of the leaves. When drawing, the ink lines should be prioritized and related to each other. The mood of the whole picture is harmonious.
1. The techniques of clipping leaves are as follows:
1. Chrysanthemum shape: This technique is mainly used to express some clustered leaves. The leaf shape is narrow and long, with a wide middle. Pointed at both ends. In early autumn, the leaves have not yet fallen and are still lush.
2. Half chrysanthemum shape: composed of three to five leaves, the leaves are drooping, like half of the chrysanthemum shape. The leaves painted are of appropriate shades and density, harmonizing with the atmosphere of the entire painting.
3. Bamboo leaf shape: The leaves drawn are long and narrow, relatively round near the petiole, and pointed at the tip. Tree trunks sprouted into the sky, and their branches and leaves were luxuriant.
4. Obtuse shape: long arc shape at the top and wavy shape at the bottom. It is mainly used to draw the leaves of miscellaneous trees. The upper arc is relatively sharp, and is filled with cyan after the grass hook.
5. Grass outline: used to draw some leaves with rounder leaves. When drawing, be careful not to be too cautious with the brush. It is best to use calligraphy into the painting. The clip-leaf method mainly uses small freehand brushwork, and some of it needs to be colored after the outline is completed. This is more common in some genre paintings.
6. Odd and opposite leaves: draw more opposite leaves, and the number of leaves is mostly odd. Plants with opposite leaves are more common in nature, such as toon trees, locust trees, sycamore trees, chrysanthemums, etc. Their leaf shapes can be round, oval, or irregular.
7. Zigzag shape: The upper part is a straight line and the lower part is a zigzag shape. It is used to draw miscellaneous trees. It can be understood as a summary of leaves with pointed leaves.
