Brief introduction of writer Liushahe

1. Liushahe (November 11th, 1931 ~ November 23rd, 219) was a modern poet, writer, scholar and calligrapher in China. Born in Jintang, Sichuan in 1931, his real name is Yu Xuntan. His main works include Poems of Liushahe, Farewell to My Hometown, Travel Notes, Twelve Poets in Taiwan Province, Poems across the Sea, Twelve Middle-aged Poets in Taiwan Province, Poems on Liushahe, Records of Sawtooth Bite, Modern Edition of Zhuangzi, Essays on Liushahe, Quotations from Mr. Y, Short Essays on Liushahe and Recent Works on Liushahe, etc. The poem "That Cricket" and "Ideal" are included in middle school Chinese textbooks.

2. In the autumn of 1949, Liushahe entered the Department of Agrochemistry of Sichuan University, determined to follow the literature. In 195, he worked as a supplement editor of the West Sichuan Farmers' Daily. In 1952, he was transferred to Sichuan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, first as a creator, and then as an editor of Sichuan Poetry Editors, Stars. In 1957, he was named as a rightist by Mao Zedong because of "Grass and Trees". He stayed in Chengdu to do various kinds of hard labor and studied ancient books after work. In 1966, he was sent back to his hometown, sawed wood for six years, nailed boxes for six years, and supervised hard labor for twenty years. In 1979, he was transferred back to Sichuan Federation of Literary and Art Circles and became the editor of Star Poetry. Full-time writing since 1985.

3. At 15: 45 on November 23, 219, Liushahe died of illness in Chengdu at the age of 88.
