History of Wudang Mountain in Hubei Province
The history of Wudang Mountain in Hubei, also known as Taihe Mountain, is located in the south of Shiyan City, Hubei Province. The earliest temple in Wudang Mountain was built in the Tang Dynasty. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, after Ming Chengzu built the Forbidden City in Beijing, Guo Jin, assistant minister of the Ministry of Industry, led his original team into Wudang Mountain and built 7 palaces, 2 temples, 36 temples and 72 cliff temples. Wudang Mountain has been a famous mountain in the world since ancient times. It is in the northern part of Hubei Province, with Qinling Mountains in the north and Bashan Mountain in the south, with a continuous ups and downs of more than 400 kilometers. Mi Fei, a calligrapher in the Song Dynasty, wrote three powerful characters for Wudang Mountain: the first mountain. As a tourist attraction, Wudang Mountain has three main characteristics. There are magnificent ancient buildings on Wudang Mountain. It is said that the building scale has surpassed the Five Mountains. As early as 1300 years ago, during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, Wulong Temple was built in Wudang Mountain to publicize Taoism. After Taoism gradually increased, Wudang Mountain became a famous Taoist mountain. Wudang Mountain Taoism worships "mysterious, naive and brave gods". It is said that Wudang Mountain is named because it is not true enough to be brave. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, most of the ancient buildings on Wudang Mountain were destroyed by soldiers. At present, most of the temples on the mountain were built in the Ming Dynasty. In the 11th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 14 13), Emperor Judy sent assistant minister Guo Jin and others to help more than 300,000 military and civilian craftsmen. It took nearly ten years to build Jingle Palace, Yingen Palace, Yu Xiu Palace, Zixiao Palace, Southern Yan Palace, Yulong Palace, Yuzhen Palace, Taihe Palace and Fuzhen Temple in Wudang Mountain. In addition, 39 bridges and 12 platforms were built, paving the stone Dojo of the whole mountain, and the whole Wudang Mountain became a "Zhenwu Dojo". In the design, the topographical features are fully utilized and the layout is ingenious. Palaces and temples are built between peaks, mountains, slopes, rocks and streams. The buildings are exquisite, unique and interrelated, and the whole building complex is suitable in density, which embodies the excellent tradition of ancient architectural art in China. The existing main buildings include Jindian, Zixiao Palace, Yuzhen Palace and Fuzhen Palace. Located on the pillar of the main peak of Wudang Mountain, Jindian is the largest bronze gilded temple in China, which was built in the 14th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (14 16). This temple is 5.5m high, 5.8m wide and 4.2m deep. The beams and algae wells in the temple have fine patterns. There is a gold-plated pearl hanging on the algae well, which is called "the fairy pearl for shelter from the wind". Legend has it that this orb can prevent the mountain wind from blowing into the temple gate, thus ensuring the longevity of the magic lamp in the temple. In fact, the mountain wind can't blow in, because the temple walls and doors are cast very strictly and accurately. Kanatonouchi has a bronze statue of Zhenwu, weighing 10 ton. Outside the hall is the railing platform of Bai Yushi, and under the stage is the Zijincheng, which is about1500m long. The city wall is made up of huge rectangular stone strips built on the mountain. This golden palace is built on the most majestic and steep Tianzhu Peak among Wudang Mountain peaks, which has the effect of "Yao Jintai in the sky". Zixiao Palace was built in the 11th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (14 13). It is the main palace of Wudang Mountain and one of the best preserved buildings. * * * There are 860 halls, pavilions and corridors, which are grand in scale and extraordinary in style. Wudang Mountain is a famous Taoist shrine in China, which was named "Wudang Blessed Land" by Emperor Chengyuan. Ming Shizong changed its name to "Xuan Yue", ranking above the Five Mountains. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, Wulong Temple was built, which was the first officially built temple. In the Song Dynasty, it was changed to temples, and the number of temples increased day by day. In order to advocate Wudang Taoism and build Wudang Mountain Palace, Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty appointed more than 30 craftsmen from all over the country. According to the story of "Tian Xuan God" cultivating immortals in Taoist scriptures, it takes more than ten years from Zhoucheng to Tianzhu since ancient times. 33 ancient buildings, including 72 rock temples, have a building area of over1600,000 square meters. The history book says: "It is rare for the Qin Emperor to make up for the legacy of Hanwu, and the victory of Zhang Jinque's forest palace is not known to the world." Up to now, Wudang Mountain has many laurels, such as world cultural heritage, 4A-level tourist area, national civilized scenic spot, national key cultural relics protection unit, national key religious activities open place, China Wushu Town National Forest Park and so on. Wudang Wushu is one of the oldest and most influential martial arts schools in China. It complements Shaolin Wushu and is known as "worshipping Shaolin in the north and Wudang in the south". Wudang Mountain is a treasure of mankind.
