Lin Jiandan (1942.10--), a native of Pingyang, Zhejiang (now Cangnan), is a calligrapher. Self-taught calligraphy and seal cutting. Engaged in art work at the age of 16. Due to his poor family background and frailty, he dropped out of school after graduating from junior high school. At the age of 20, he entered the sect of Fang Jiekan, and later was taught by Lu Weizhao, who gained extensive knowledge from calligraphers and famous inscriptions of past dynasties. In 1958, he went to work in Wenzhou Art Design Company. In 1979, it was transferred to Wenzhou Museum. He has successively served as deputy director and librarian. He is a member of the Chinese Poetry Society, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Branch of the Calligraphers Association, and chairman of the Wenzhou Calligraphers Association. Currently, he is a creative review member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, a member of the Xiling Seal Society, the president of the Wenzhou Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and a national first-class artist. He has been rated as the top professional and technical talent in Wenzhou three times in a row and enjoys the title of the State Council Special government subsidies issued. His calligraphy works have been selected into the previous "National Book Fair" and "National Youth Exhibition", and have been featured in professional publications many times. Participate in large-scale calligraphy activities at home and abroad, and provide calligraphy and painting works to places of interest and memorial museums in various places.
