Chiang’s mother’s tomb is located in Yulin’ao, Baiyan Mountain, Lianghuali, west of Xikou Town. It was first built in 1923. There are three doors at the entrance; the middle door is 3.7 meters wide; the left and right doors are 2.1 meters wide. The tomb passage is 668 meters long and has a fine pebble pavement. The road goes up a slope, and there are buildings such as "Xia Jiao Pavilion", "Tomb House" and "Octagonal Pavilion" on the way. The tomb faces south to north and is capped with loess. The location is very elegant and belongs to the "Jia Zi Cave". ". The locals call it the land of dragon veins.
The tomb of Chiang’s mother Wang Caiyu is built in the green mountains and jungles. The tomb of Chiang’s mother is very grand, including the "Stone Archway", "Xia Jiao Pavilion", "Tomb House", "Octagonal Pavilion", "Tomb" and "Cobblestone Road" and other group buildings.
The "Stone Archway" has three door openings. The middle door is engraved with "Chiang's Mother's Tomb Path" and there are two side doors on the left and right. From here to the tomb, it is collectively called the "Tomb Path of Chiang's Mother".
About 300 meters up the stone archway, there is a pavilion with a cross-road structure. It's called the "low sedan pavilion". Every time Chiang Kai-shek visited his mother's grave, the sedan would be carried here to get off. 200 meters up from the "Xia Jiao Pavilion", there is a house called Chiang's mother's tomb - "Ci'an". The "Tomb House" in front of the tomb. It is usually a place where descendants will live and stay when they visit tombs. Because Chiang Kai-shek's father was not buried in the tomb of Chiang Kai-shek's mother, the tomb was called "Ci'an", which means to commemorate the loving mother.
"Ci'an" was built in early 1923 and expanded to its current size in 1930. The style and color of "Ci'an" are similar to those of ordinary nunneries. It has yellow walls and green tiles, and is surrounded by tree shade. It is very elegant and quiet inside. There are three bungalows in the nunnery and five main rooms. There are four stone tablets in the middle of the main room. The stone tablet standing at the main entrance is a memorial to Chiang Kai-shek written by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It describes the relationship between Sun Yat-sen and Chiang Kai-shek and Dr. Sun Yat-sen's evaluation of Chiang Kai-shek. On the back of the stele is engraved "A Brief History of the Late Concubine and Mrs. Wang Taifu" written by Chiang Kai-shek himself, describing Wang Caiyu's life and Chiang Kai-shek's naughty childhood. The stone tablet on the left is engraved with Chiang Kai-shek's "Crying Mother Essay", which expresses Chiang Kai-shek's deep feelings for his mother Wang Caiyu. The article reveals the inner story of brotherly discord and family conflicts. On the right side of the stone tablet is engraved the "Message of Condolences to Commander-in-Chief Chiang" from the Central Executive Committee of the Kuomintang. The inscription reflects the contradictions and struggles played by Chiang Kai-shek within the new warlords of the Kuomintang.
The two-room suite on the left side of the main room was where Chiang Kai-shek stayed when he returned to his hometown to visit his tomb. After the Xi'an Incident in December 1936, Chiang Kai-shek lived here for 110 days. The two suites on the right were used to receive Chiang Kai-shek's relatives, friends and his subordinates.
Go 168 meters along the cobblestone road from the "Tomb House" to the tomb of Chiang Kai-shek's mother, Wang Caiyu. The tomb is spliced ??with bluestones, and in the center are the four characters "Mother Chiang's Tomb", which were inscribed by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The fan-shaped railing is engraved with "Hu Fan Zu Style". It means a model among girls, who can serve as a role model. Couplets written by Chiang Kai-shek are engraved on the pillars on both sides. The first couplet: "It was too late for the virtuous and kind-hearted people to regret it when they were so evil"; the second couplet: "I feel ashamed to be a rebellious son, and I will always be filled with sorrow and hatred." In this couplet, Chiang Kai-shek's love for his mother and regret for himself were beyond words, expressing his grief and helplessness. However. It's too late, we can only carve it on stone for eternity to remember it forever!
