My friend Mr. Liu Xianyin sent a thick manuscript of China Lan Culture. This book narrates the development history of orchid culture in China, discusses the internal relationship between China orchids and China traditional culture, explores the previous understanding process and appreciation concept of orchids, that is, "people are more important than strictness, orchids are also more important than strictness, and they are inexhaustible and precious to the world", and expounds the evolution process and development trend of orchid culture. It also sorted out the poems, paintings and anecdotes of ancient and modern literati with the theme of Lan. Unique insights and thorough reasoning. It laid a theoretical foundation for the sustainable development of orchid industrialization in China.
Looking at this rich manuscript, I have a lot of thoughts. More than 60 years ago, I wrote Pinlan's words: "Many people love orchids alone, and Ge Lan is the fragrance of kings, so they are willing to return them. This ancient gentleman is shocked and salty. " In recent years, I advocate a culture of "integrity and harmony". Confucius is still upright, Laozi is still clear, and Sakyamuni is still harmonious. Dongfang Avenue runs through and raises four or three flags. Lan Ju is "clear and harmonious".
"Righteousness" is the first step of Confucius' ethics, that is, inner innocence, mental health and enrichment. Self-cultivation aims at physical and mental health, and self-love and self-improvement is self-cultivation; With self-love, we can love our family, our country and all mankind. The so-called "nourishing qi and training". "Book of Rites University" said: "Those who want virtue in ancient times should rule their country first; If you want to govern your country, you should first get your family together; If you want to reunite with your family, you should first repair your body; If you want to cultivate yourself, you should be upright first; ..... "The starting point of Confucius thought is positive, which is also the core of Confucius thought. It can be said that self-cultivation is the foundation and ends with perfection.
The core of Laozi's philosophical thought is "Qing", and the antonym of "Qing" is "turbidity". Laozi emphasized stirring up chaos, establishing social order according to the laws of nature, being simple and pure, not seeking merit, and "doing nothing without doing anything", so as to return human nature to natural tranquility.
Sakyamuni used kindness to eliminate hostility. Sakyamuni is a Buddhist, and Buddhist disciples are called monks. Monks are still harmonious. What he admires is a word "harmony", which can be interpreted as "equality of all beings" ... In fact, both Confucianism and Taoism are peace, and their meaning is slightly biased towards "harmony".
Confucius is upright, Laozi is upright, and Sakyamuni is harmonious. "Righteousness, purity and harmony" is the core of oriental culture and the profoundness of China traditional culture. China orchid culture is the condensation of China traditional culture.
Shaoxing is a famous historical and cultural city in China. Mr. Wang and Mr. Ma live in this fertile soil with profound cultural background. They have planted orchids, raised orchids and studied orchids for decades, and they have a deep understanding of orchids in China. After more than ten years' efforts, they finally finished the book Orchid Culture in China. Congratulations!
Orchid culture in China is the cultural treasure of China and the cultural wealth of the world. Lansheng Valley, fragrant and far away. I believe that through unremitting efforts, "Yilan" will definitely be included in the world intangible cultural heritage list.

Over the mountains
China is a country of flowers and a sea of poems.
In the middle, the middle earth is also; Hua Zhe, Hua Ye. China is a place where the flowers of Tao and Avenue are in full bloom.
The Chinese nation is the only nation named after flowers in the world. China people naturally love flowers, and think that flowers are spiritual things, and regard flowers as the embodiment of beauty and the symbol of happiness. China people appreciate flowers not only because of their color and appearance, but also because of their moral quality and spiritual strength.
China orchids are unique to China. It is not only evergreen all the year round, unique, quiet and elegant, but also has the humanistic spirit of "not being fragrant" and "the leaves are right but the flowers are not bright". People regard orchids as "gentlemen in flowers" and take orchids as an example to enhance their personality.
The author lives in Shaoxing, an ancient city with fragrant orchids, and has been influenced by orchid culture since childhood. Since the early 1990s, he has had the idea of writing "Orchid Culture in China". In view of the extensive and profound orchid culture in China, and the orchid world is also a place where the moon and the sea semen are hidden and the dragon crouches. Although I intend to collect information, I have been afraid to start writing rashly. It was not until the beginning of 200 1 that we began to sort out our thoughts and consider the outline with the advice and encouragement of teacher Liu Xianyin from China Forestry Publishing House. According to the idea that Cihai defines "culture" as "the sum of material and spiritual wealth created in the historical practice of human society", China orchid culture is defined as "the sum of all human activities related to orchids in China". According to this idea, the main contents of China orchid culture have the following main objectives: to straighten out the history of China orchid culture; Reveal the internal relationship between orchid culture and China traditional culture; This paper discusses the evolution of orchid appreciation standards in China and the development trend of orchids in China from the perspective of culture and economy.
It is very difficult to comprehensively expound the orchid culture in China. This is not only because the orchid culture in China has a long history and is profound, but also involves knowledge in the fields of philosophy, aesthetics, history, archaeology, art, economy and so on. It is a huge cultural project. At this time, the author realized that his love for orchids alone could not accomplish this task. Therefore, on the one hand, we concentrate our energy and financial resources on collecting information about China orchid culture, on the other hand, we read a lot of China cultural classics to appreciate the essence of traditional culture. By consulting a large number of historical documents, visiting many predecessors in Yilan, listening to the opinions of cultural figures, and relying on the author's nearly 30 years' practice in Yilan, I finally realized the true meaning of orchid culture in China and wrote some words intermittently. I started writing in the second half of 2005 and completed all the manuscripts in the autumn of 2007.
We think that the contents mentioned in this book are just a drop in the ocean of China orchid culture, and many places have not been touched yet, which needs further study by future generations. We only take this as a reference to attract more scholars' attention to the orchid culture in China.
In the process of writing "Orchid Culture in China", we got encouragement and support from friends from all walks of life.
The late China famous painter and Lao She's wife, Mr. Hu Jieqing, wrote the title of this book on 200 1.
Mr. Wen Huaisha, a master of Chinese studies, not only wrote the title of the book, but also enthusiastically made a preface; Mr. Feng Rumei, the predecessor of Yilan, read all the manuscripts, revised them word by word and made a preface. Professor Liu Yi, consultant of China Calligraphers Association, Mr. Zhao Xuemin, former deputy director of State Forestry Administration and director of China Calligraphers Association, and Mr. Bao Xianlun, director of Zhejiang Cultural Relics Bureau and director of China Calligraphers Association wrote inscriptions for this book. This book was painted by Professor Ren, a Shanghai painter, and Mr. and Mr. Xiling Printing Society specially carved seals for this book. Painters Jing Xiyou, Wei Yihe, Bai He, Wei Zhongdian, Liu Xianyin, Ping Liu and Jiang Feng wrote inscriptions for this book.

Mr. Liu Xianyin and others gave great support and enthusiastic help to the birth of this book. They not only provided a lot of valuable historical materials and artistic experience, but also put forward many amendments to the first draft of this book. Here, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you for your support!
