1. Purpose:
To cultivate patriotism and love for religion, and possess a certain level of Buddhist culture. A successor to Buddhism who is both academically and spiritually sound and possesses both political integrity and talent.
2. Academic system and courses:
1. The academic system lasts for two years.
2. Courses
A. Buddhism: History of Chinese Buddhism, Discipline Studies, Three Sutras of Sutras, Summary of Buddhism, Theory of One Hundred Dharmas, Ode to Rules of Eight Consciousnesses, Encouragement to Arouse Bodhicitta The four religious rituals of Wen and Tiantai.
B. Cultural category: Chinese, ancient Chinese, history, English, calligraphy.
3. Enrollment quota:
Thirty student monks.
IV. Enrollment conditions:
1. Have been a monk in a temple for more than one year, have a clean history, be able to strictly observe the precepts, and be in good health (no infectious diseases, cancer resistance) young monk.
2. Those who are 18---28 years old, have junior high school education (or equivalent education), and are familiar with the five lessons.
5. Registration procedures and time:
1. Those who meet the requirements must submit their academic qualifications, ID card (photocopy), recent physical examination form, letter of introduction from the temple where they are located and three one-inch photos of monks with hats off. Send photos and other materials, and if successful, an admission ticket will be issued.
2. Registration time: April 15-July 15, 2002 (Gregorian calendar 5.26-8.23).
6. Examination Matters and Admission Methods:
1. Examination subjects: Chinese, Buddhism, and two-hour recitation.
2. Examination time: See the admission ticket, 7.21-7.23 (Gregorian calendar 8.29-8.31).
3. Those who pass the examination and interview will be admitted on a merit-based basis.
7. Student treatment:
1. During the school period, accommodation and food will be provided by the temple, and appropriate monthly allowances will be given.
2. Medical expenses are borne by oneself. In special circumstances, the temple will provide subsidies as appropriate.
3. Textbooks are distributed uniformly by the school.
8. Graduation destination:
After graduation, those who are willing to continue their studies are recommended to apply for a Buddhist college. If they wish, they can also stay in the temple to work and study. If you have any questions, please call or send us a letter for consultation.
