The former residence has a building area of 600 square meters, two entrances, three main buildings, two floors, and two rooms in front. There are also three back buildings, and there is a terrace on the roof for boarding. Above the main entrance of the former residence is the "Former Residence of Poet Xu Zhimo" inscribed by the poet's cousin Jin Yong, and behind the main entrance is the brick carving of "Donghai", which should be the meaning of Xu County's hope and ancestors. The main building has three floors and two floors, with east and west wings in front, three floors and two floors behind, and a terrace on it. There is a bust of Xu Zhimo in the yard. Above the main hall gate is Cang Kejia's 94-year-old inscription "The Former Residence of Zhimo". There is a big flat head with black spots on a white background in the hall: "Anyatang". Mr. Qi Gong made up a book for it because the original flat head was destroyed. Below the flat forehead is a five-character couplet written by calligrapher Bao Xianlun, deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and director of the Cultural Relics Bureau: "Smoke is everywhere, water is everywhere." Chen Shi, the 28th grandson of Yue Fei, painted a picture of pine and bamboo. Large western tiles with pink patterns on the floor of the hall and the east and west wing rooms are consistent with the building structure, but difficult to be compatible with the furnishings in the hall. It can be seen that the bedroom decoration of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai businessmen is a temporary interest. The east wing of the main hall introduces pictures of Xu Zhimo's thoughts and literary activities, and the works and research books published by poets in various periods are displayed in the glass cabinet. There is an oil painting by Xu Zhimo and Indian poet Tagore on the western wall. The west wing room is a display of Xu Zhimo's family life materials, mostly black and white photos. There are three rooms on the ground floor at the back of the hall, displaying poems sung by cultural celebrities in past dynasties, and Lu Xiaoman's poem "Tomb Sweeping for Zhimo". The back garden on the first floor is full of bamboo, camellia, pomegranate and oleander. There is a well in the garden, and the mine field is light pink. Next to it is a card called "The Spring of Love". On the wall of the corridor on the second floor, there is a picture frame of Lu Xiaoman's colorful scenery, and there is a picture frame of Hu Shi, Yang Quan, He, Chen Dieye, after this picture. There is a set of mahogany furniture in the living room on the second floor. Lohan bed, mahogany chair, round table, marble hanging screen, etc. It's not original, so it should be new. On the east wall hung two official script frames, and on the west wall hung a seven-character self-disciplined couplet inscribed by Lu Kang, a Shanghai seal engraver who settled in Macau: "Mountains and rivers flow, the moon is bright and the breeze is boundless." The east wing is Mei Xuan, that is, Xu Zhimo's study. There is a photo frame of "the statue of poet Xu Zhimo" on the south wall, but I can't see who wrote it. It is suspected that Mr. Chen Congzhou wrote this from a distance. On the east wall hung a banner picture frame with the word "Mei Xuan" inscribed by Kebiao Zhang, a centenarian. The title was "Mid-Autumn Kebiao Zhang is not old". Indoor furnishings include record player, English typewriter and western-style furniture. Opposite Mei Xuan is the new house of that year, and there is a photo frame on the wall to reprint their wedding photos. Lu Xiaoman wore a white wedding dress and the poet leaned over in a suit and tie, which really reminded people of a fairy companion. One-room western-style furniture, light beige cashmere carpet in front of the bed, colorful flowers and pink window wallpaper. . One of the west wing rooms is Xu's mother's bedroom, all furnished with Chinese wooden furniture, but the western wall furnace is abrupt and quite strange. Opposite Xu's mother's bedroom is Xu Zhimo's ex-wife Zhang Youyi's bedroom. After Xu divorced Zhang, Zhang was regarded as a daughter by Xu's father, so he specially opened this room. Chinese furniture, dressing table, desk, toffee lounge chair, carved wooden bed, and even an electric fan that was regarded as a luxury at that time.
There are three rooms behind the second floor, and a flat forehead is engraved with the words "Qingyuan Pavilion" by Kang Youwei, hanging in the middle of a door, which seems to be a name of Xu Fu's study. Three rooms are empty. There are some modern paintings and calligraphy hanging on the wall. Among them, the portrait of Xu Zhimo, I don't know who made it, is grotesque and vulgar. Like Lu Xiaoman, he fiddled with the pipa in the boat, with lotus flowers behind him. There is a terrace upstairs. On the terrace, you can overlook the mountains far and near, north and south on sunny days, and look up at the stars and lights on a moonlit night.
