Liu Zhihui, courtesy name Shuan and nickname Wuji, was born in Ningyang County, Shandong Province in October 1949. Graduated from the Philosophy Department of Peking University. He started practicing calligraphy at the age of 10 and became a teacher of Liu Bingsen in 1975. After the Chinese Calligraphers Association was established in 1980, he joined the Chinese Calligraphers Association in 1982 after being recommended by Liu Bingsen and Li Duo.
