The Origin and Development of Buddhism
? (1) Buddhism originated in ancient India from the 6th century BC to the 5th century BC. Siddhartha Gautama, the founder, lived in the same era as China before the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, that is, in the same era as Confucius in China. Primitive Buddhism is divided into two schools: the more traditional one is called Seated Buddhism, and the more reformed one is called Popular Sect Buddhism.
? (2) Buddhism in the mass department has evolved into Mahayana Buddhism in its inheritance; Meditation is called Hinayana Buddhism. The difference is that Mahayana Buddhism believes that there are buddhas in all ten generations, and the fruit of believers' practice is divided into three levels: arhat, bodhisattva and Buddha, and the ultimate goal of practice is to become a Buddha. Hinayana Buddhism believes that there is only one Buddha in the world, namely Sakyamuni Buddha, and the highest fruit of believers' practice is Lohan.
Second, how to learn Buddhism
? (1) The first small question of the first big question is why do you want to learn Buddhism? In fact, learning Buddhism is to solve problems that we can't solve at all, so we rely on Buddhism. In the classics, Sakyamuni often refers to our South Station as the boundary of four broken lines, which translates as forbearance, meaning: we can still endure.
? (2) Learning Buddhism should follow the right path, but it is not the right path, and it cannot be called learning Buddhism. For each of us, it is time to reflect. We have taken many detours in the past, it doesn't matter, as long as you can get back on the right path, it's not too late.
