Mr. Zhou once said: Learning to write well is a course that everyone in China must complete, that is, a "passing" national cultural education. Now look, how many people have finished this "homework"?
Whether the handwriting is good or not used to be a sign to measure a person's education level. Things are different now. There are more and more people with higher education, but writing seems to be getting farther and farther away from people. After the popularization of computers and mobile phones, picking up a pen is either forgetting words or writing badly, not to mention enjoying the joy and detachment of fragrant ink alone.
No wonder some people say that there is a "crisis of chinese characters" and worry that in the long run, calligraphy will only leave its own name list on the cultural heritage.
Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the Outline of Calligraphy Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (hereinafter referred to as the Outline). The outline proposes that calligraphy education should be incorporated into the teaching system of primary and secondary schools from this spring, and students should practice hard brush calligraphy in stages according to their age. The "Outline" also specifically pointed out that calligraphy education in primary and secondary schools does not hold special examinations and does not carry out calligraphy grade examinations.
For some time, calligraphy education has weakened, the writing level of the whole people has declined, and the ability to perceive and appreciate words has also declined. Walking into the classroom and campus this time, it is gratifying that calligraphy education has finally received the attention it deserves.
In fact, before this, some provinces and autonomous regions had arranged writing education classes in the curriculum and required to ensure the class hours, compiled special writing textbooks and organized teacher training, which also achieved certain results.
Of course, this time is different. This is a nationwide appeal to all students to write Chinese characters well: calligraphy education in primary and secondary schools should enable every student to meet the basic requirements of standardized writing Chinese characters. This is not to expect everyone to become a calligrapher, and there will be no pressure because of exams. This is a natural thing in the life of China people.
Indeed, in today's electronic world, the decline of handwriting is inevitable. But writing education is not a trivial matter, it is related to the sustainable development of China culture. Chinese characters are our national wealth and cultural memory. "Colorless and brilliant pictures, silent and harmonious music." Calligraphy education is not just a writing class. China people, writing Chinese characters well, is essentially a love and inheritance of China culture.
