Xie Debing’s biography

In 1960, he was admitted to the History Department of Northwest University. After graduation in 1964, he was assigned to work in the Foreign Cultural Affairs Committee to engage in foreign cultural exchange work. He started with Zhang Xu and Huai Su in calligraphy, studied calligraphy from other calligraphers, and absorbed nutrients from Chinese and foreign art, music, dance, drama and other arts. His works are powerful and elegant. In 1972, his works participated in the Beijing Calligraphy Works Exhibition. In 1978, he initiated the "Tiananmen Poetry Copy Calligraphy Exhibition". In the same year, his works participated in the "Hundred Celebrities Exhibition of Modern Chinese Calligraphy and Painting" held in Japan. In 1980, he was transferred to the China International Exhibition Company of the Ministry of Culture and participated in launching the "First National Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibition" and participating in the preparatory work for the Chinese Calligraphers Association. Published books such as "Talking about Cursive Script". Chief editor or co-editor of "Selected Modern Chinese Calligraphy" and "Selected Ink Drawings of Guo Moruo and Yu Liqun".
