Erhai Lake is at an altitude of1972m. Erhai Lake is the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province, located in Dali City, Yunnan Province. Erhai Lake is named Erhai Lake because it looks like an ear. Because Erhai Lake is not high above sea level, you don't have to worry about altitude sickness when you travel here.
Erhai Lake has seven functions: water supply, agricultural irrigation, power generation, climate regulation, fishery, shipping and tourism. Cangshan is like a screen in the west of Erhai Lake and faces Yushan in the east, with a beautiful space environment.
Cangshan Erhai Nature Reserve was established with the approval of Yunnan Provincial People's Government in 198 1, and was promoted to national level in 1994. Its main protection objects are plateau freshwater lakes, aquatic animals and plants, natural landscapes and glacial remains in the transitional zone between north and south animals and plants, covering an area of 79,700 hectares.
