A national, non-profit and academic social organization voluntarily formed to revitalize and develop hard-pen calligraphy in China. The purpose of China Hard Pen Calligraphers Association is to carry forward the excellent cultural tradition of the Chinese nation, build two socialist civilizations, popularize and improve the writing level of the whole society, promote cultural and artistic exchanges at home and abroad, and revitalize and develop the hard pen calligraphy culture in China.
In 2009, the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association was changed. Pang Zhonghua, the first chairman, retired from the leadership position and became the honorary chairman for life after serving as the chairman of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association for four consecutive years. Zhang Huaqing served as the chairman of the 4th (mid-term adjustment) and 5th China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association.
