Wang Xueqiao (1894- 1939), a native of Shenmu County, Shaanxi Province, was a famous calligrapher during the Republic of China.

Tired of the lantern-like Beiyang government and various personnel circles because of disagreement with the authorities, he retired from 1924, publicized new culture, founded the "Tianzu Club", advocated women's freedom, challenged the old ethics, and aroused strong opposition from conservative forces. So in the name of Gao Zhiqing, commander of the garrison cavalry brigade, he was stationed in Nanjing, Xi 'an and other places. /kloc-returned to Shenmu in 0/930, and lived in seclusion in the ancient Buddha Cave and Guandi Temple in his hometown. Wang Xueqiao liked the art of calligraphy since he was a child. He copied all the tablets extensively and could understand the essence of the spell. At the age of twelve, he inscribed the monument of "Kaige Building" in Shenmu. In his prime, he visited the ancient temples of famous calligraphy cities such as Beijing, Taitai, Wutai, Xi, Hangzhou and Nanjing, and visited many famous ancient and modern artists Mo Bao, which further improved the artistic realm of calligraphy. On this basis, I deeply studied the inscriptions in the Qin, Han, Wei, Jin and Six Dynasties, carefully pondered and practiced for more than 30 years, collected the strengths of various schools, and created a "Wei Li" with its own system. So as to achieve a simple but not rigid, free and easy but not frivolous, bold but not wild, elegant but not reserved superb realm. 1936 went to Beijing to attend a pen meeting, ranking seventh, and became a famous calligrapher in modern times, on par with Li Tang and Yu Youren in Shaanxi. His Mo Bao has remained in Beijing, Nanjing, Inner Mongolia, Yulin, Shenmu and other places, and is regarded as a treasure. Wang Xueqiao is knowledgeable and accomplished in poetry and prose, but he doesn't write easily. Most of the screen couplets written are excellent sentences of predecessors to express their feelings and ambitions. There are also couplets written by himself, such as "Ning and Yuqiao are secluded and don't follow the geese", which expresses his ambivalence that he doesn't want to go with the flow, but he can't find a bright way out. 1939, Wang Xueqiao was poor and sick in Zhalaite Banner (now Xinjie Town, Yiqi Banner) in Inner Mongolia, at the age of 45.
