"Rootless flower, passive water"
However, in the process of "making foreign things serve China and making the past serve the present", Chinese painting has lost its national characteristics more and more. A few years ago, a painter's oil painting and Chinese painting was listed as an oil painting exhibition, which shocked the circle of Chinese painting ... So pessimistic arguments such as "Chinese painting is at the end of the road" and "pen and ink are equal to zero" came into being. An Israeli painter who loves Chinese painting said that Chinese painting should make people who like Chinese painting look like Chinese painting.
Traditional Chinese painting is mainly freehand brushwork, which is good at expressing emotions and artistic conception, but it is abstract in expressing concrete images. "Integrating western modeling concepts into Chinese painting and improving the scope and ability of Chinese painting are the goals of people engaged in Chinese painting art today." Guo Yizong, director of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of China Artists Association and a flower-and-bird painter, believes that learning from each other's strong points will help Chinese painting adapt to the development of the times. However, in the process of development, it is necessary to prevent the boundaries between Chinese and western painting from becoming blurred. Many Chinese paintings are strikingly similar to oil paintings in composition and techniques. If no one tells us that this is a Chinese painting, we will naturally think that this is an oil painting just from the vague slides. "This is the biggest problem facing Chinese painting today."
Liu Xilin, an art critic, said with great anxiety. Oriental painting represented by Chinese painting and western painting represented by oil painting have created countless glories on their respective development paths. However, due to the differences in thinking mode, philosophical basis and aesthetic concept between the East and the West. The difference in painting is very obvious. For example, although at the beginning of painting, both East and West used lines to describe objects, in the later development, there were great differences in the concept and application of lines between Western painting and China painting: Western painting gradually embarked on the road of scientific realism, while China painting embarked on the road of freehand brushwork: the position and role of lines in the two painting systems were also significantly different. Mr. Peng Jixiang, a famous scholar, once summed up the differences between Chinese and Western paintings: "If China's paintings are still elegant, then Western paintings are still tangible; Chinese painting emphasizes expression and emotion, while western painting emphasizes reproduction and rationality; China's painting takes lines as the main modeling means, while western painting mainly uses light and color to express objects; China's paintings are not limited by space and time, while western paintings strictly abide by the boundaries between space and time. In a word, western painting pays attention to reproduction and realism, which is in sharp contrast with China's painting.
The main feature of Chinese painting is the pursuit of "poetic and picturesque"-the combination of material lyric and realistic painting is the basic creative style and the aesthetic pursuit of the general public. The author felt that the audience entered the mood from the scene, and vivid details were portrayed as the information carrier of emotional communication between the two sides.

Enjoy the mountains and waterfalls; Stand tall, stand tall; In early spring, trees turn green; When a friend goes to his post, he will say goodbye; ..... The majestic mountain peaks have a breathtaking effect. From the picture, it seems that the roar of waterfalls and the passing of cold wind are intertwined, making people feel the greatness of nature. It has strong artistic appeal.
There is a poem to prove it: pitch can't go, if you meet an old friend. I was scattered by Chun Xue and saw it in Huashan. Where there is a bright moon, I will visit you and listen to the distant wind. The phase will return, each accounting for Shiyan East. (Tang dynasty? Yeyu's "Youting Song" is very poetic)
This painting is based on ink (ink is divided into five colors-coke, thick, light and clear), with a contrast between "light crimson color" and a back color, so it has the characteristics of simplicity and elegance without hurting pen and ink.
The main differences between Chinese painting and oil painting are as follows;
(1) Chinese painting appeared earlier than oil painting. As far as molding painting is concerned, Chinese painting was molded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (about 304-589 AD), and oil painting was molded at least until the Renaissance in the Middle Ages.
(2) Chinese painting has a history of thousands of years, and it is the treasure of China's traditional art. The biggest feature of Chinese painting is the composition of poems, books, paintings and seals, as well as the China cultural connotation contained in the painting itself, which is the biggest feature different from western painting art; Chinese painting is the crystallization and treasure of literature and art, so oil painting is incomparable.
(3) Chinese painting adopts the scatter perspective method, while oil painting adopts the focus perspective method, so Chinese painting can draw a wide range of people's landscapes (such as the riverside scene at Qingming Festival) but oil painting can't, and oil painting can draw a strong object texture effect, but Chinese painting can't.
(4) Chinese paintings generally don't need heavy colors, and there are fewer kinds of colors. The color of oil painting is very heavy, and many colors are used.
(5) Chinese painting attaches great importance to mounting, while oil painting pays little attention to it.
(6) Chinese paintings are generally combined with private calligraphy seals and inscriptions, and oil paintings are basically absent.
(7) In the development of Chinese painting, schools are relatively fixed, with little differentiation, and there are many schools in the development of oil painting, with great differences.
.
There should be two parallel painting schools in the East and the West-Western oil painting and oriental Chinese painting keep pace; But now the result is: one is "overnutrition" (oil painting) and the other is serious "undernutrition". These are due to cultural background, humanistic habits, economic development and many other factors. Therefore, it has caused the international community to favor western painting-oil painting and ignore oriental painting-Chinese painting. And this "indifference" will lead to a result that we are very unwilling to see-"survival of the fittest." Perhaps Chinese painting will "mutate" now or in the near future; It will "mutate" into a "deformed child" with low artistic value, no pen and ink, no poetry and no "three distances" (without the characteristics of Chinese painting). This "deformed child" is derived from external pressure-only strange colors, blocks and special techniques (materials) show the texture effect; The so-called "innovative Chinese painting".
Therefore, I hereby implore: art-loving groups or friends in developed countries (especially those who love oriental art), please do your part to protect Chinese painting, the dazzling flower in the world art treasure house!
In addition, in order for Chinese painting to be truly loved by people all over the world, China painting and calligraphy "learning and training" classes must be held all over the world; Nowadays, with the international exchange of China culture and the reform of China's cultural system, China's calligraphy and painting, the treasure of China's culture and art, will be more and more understood and loved by people all over the world, and China's dream of "learning and training" in calligraphy and painting will soon become a reality. Only when people who love art all over the world learn, understand and appreciate the "true meaning" of China's paintings and calligraphy works can they love and protect the healthy development of China's paintings and calligraphy. I believe that the price gap between Chinese and western paintings can only be improved then. We look forward to this day coming soon!
