Zhong You (15 1-230) was born in Changshe County, Yingchuan County, Yuzhou City (now changge city, Henan Province). Wei was an important minister and a famous calligrapher in the Three Kingdoms period. Zhong You was born in a noble family, named Shi, with extraordinary appearance and superior intelligence. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Ju Xiaolian was born, and served as assistant minister of Shang and Huangmen successively, assisting Emperor Xian of Han to return to Luo, and was conferred the title of Qiu.
Deeply trusted by Prime Minister Cao Cao, he served as a captain, guarding Guanzhong with outstanding achievements, and moved to the former army sub-division. Cao Cao was appointed as Wang Wei, became the Dali State Secretary of Wei State, and moved to Guo Xiang. After the establishment of Cao Wei, he successively served as Tingweiqing, Taiwei and Taifu, and conferred the title of Hou of Dingling County, ranking third. In the fourth year of Taihe (230), Zhong You died and posthumous title succeeded. At the beginning of four years (243), it was returned to Cao Cao Temple, Emperor Wu of Wei.

Zhong You's calligraphy styles are diverse, including seal script, official script, original script, running script and cursive script. Its calligraphy is simple and elegant, with alternating font sizes and strict and meticulous overall layout. Zhang Huaiguan's book end said: "Chang Yuan's true books are peerless, but they are too teachers, so they are gentle and prepared. There are many different interests between stippling and painting, which can be described as profound and antique. Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, there has been only one person. " His best writing is regular script. Xuanhe Pu Shu commented: "Prepare your statutes and be the father of official books."
